Whether you’re keen to explore traditional villages or the surrounding dales, this exceptionally well-furnished house could not be a more welcoming place to return to. Cook together in the well-appointed kitchen and relax around the fire on cold winter evenings. The cottage is located just off the marketplace in Hawes, a busy town that’s famously home to Wensleydale cheese. You can visit the Wensleydale Creamery to see how it is made and enjoy a tasting afterwards. Set in the former railway station, the National Park Centre and Dales Countryside Museum tells the fascinating story of the Yorkshire Dales and the people who have lived and worked here for thousands of years; across the way is a family-run business that still makes rope the traditional way. There are also numerous walks in the area, and the Pennine Way passes through the town.
This cottage provides fabulous accommodation for six. Enter into the hall to find understairs storage with coat hooks, a great place to store muddy boots after a day’s walking in the hills. The lounge has a luxurious and cosy feel, with an electric fire, corner sofa and TV, and the dining room has a beautiful walnut inlay table to enjoy a meal or glass of wine with family or friends. The kitchen is also on this level and is well-equipped with all you need to rustle up a feast with the finest Yorkshire produce. The three bedrooms are on the first floor – a tastefully decorated double with an en-suite shower, a lovely twin with views towards a fell and another double bedroom with far-reaching views. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath and plenty of space to store toiletries.
Whilst there is no outside space, the cottage is centrally located.
