Here is a selection of cottages that are family friendly and make a great choice for a getaway with the family. All were available at the time of publishing for either w/c 13th February or w/c 20th February.

A traditional 3-storey sandstone cottage that comes with a large open plan kitchen / dining area which we think makes a great space for family gatherings. Crag Cottage is just a couple of miles from Whitby but enjoys a very peaceful spot beside the River Esk. Kids will particularly love the fourth bedroom which includes a table football they can play.
This immaculate 3-bedroom property is close to Scarborough and the owner will provide children with wellies plus a bucket and spade so they can make the most of their time at the seaside. The gardens are truly special and are a haven for many different types of birds and wildlife. A play area is just down the road from the cottage and you can spot alpacas and donkeys in a park just outside the village.

Located in the beautiful village of Thornton-le-Dale, Rorty Crankle has a prime position for exploring the North York Moors (whether you choose to do this by car, bike or on foot). We love the quirky touches that give the place real character and the choice of comfy sofas that are great for gathering round the fire on an evening.
If you are planning on heading to Whitby for half term, Spyglass 1708 has a prime location that looks out over the town’s rooftops towards the Abbey. This boutique 2-bedroom apartment works well for smaller families looking to be in the centre of things!

The Wensleydale location is just down the road from Leyburn so you’ll find plenty of towns and villages to explore including Middleham where you can watch racehorses training before visiting Middleham Castle.
We think the charming interiors and great location more than match the fabulous name of this cottage.
