The Copse is a very special cottage indeed and a lot of that is down to the care and attention that owners Konrad and Janina Czajka have put into it. This care continues with the great welcome they personally give to each guest, including a welcome hamper that is just brimming with treats to get your holiday off to a great start.

The Czajka’s have owned and lived in the neighbouring manor house, Riffa Manor, for 22 years and have spared no expense in making The Copse into the perfect place for a family getaway. Konrad himself says “we really wanted a spacious cottage where larger groups and extended families could get together, relax and enjoy each other’s company."

Enjoy some relaxing time with the family
I think this vision has definitely been realised with The Copse and here are the five things I love about it:
1. The magnificent grounds and fabulous location

Enjoy the stunning gardens
There’s nothing like getting some fresh Yorkshire air into your lungs and you’ll be spoilt for choice of outside space to explore when visiting The Copse. It’s situated on the grounds of a historic manor house with a whopping 14 acres of land in which you can walk, run or meander about to your heart’s content.

Head for a woodland walk
That’s not all though, because these private grounds are surrounded by even more acres of stunning woodland which means you will never run out of places to stop for a picnic during your stay.
2. Harrogate is on your doorstep
You really do get the best of both worlds when staying at The Copse and I love the fact that although you are in a gorgeously secluded area with plenty of peace and quiet, you are still just a few miles from cosmopolitan Harrogate.

It is definitely worth heading into Harrogate during your visit to The Copse as there is plenty to see and do in this historic spa town. I recommend visiting the famous Turkish Baths and the stunning gardens at RHS Harlow Carr.

3. Stretch out and relax – there’s bags of space
Now I know the whole point of a family holiday is getting together but sometimes we all need a little bit of time on our own. There’s no getting under each other’s feet at The Copse as there are two separate living rooms (one for adults and one for the children?) and a dining room (complete with feature fireplace) to spread out and relax in.

A separate snug gives plenty of room to spread out
Not only that, but all four bedrooms are generously sized and come with en-suite bathrooms. The Copse also has its own private garden which has a sheltered patio and garden furniture for al fresco dining.

4. No expense spared with the luxurious interiors
The owners of The Copse really wanted to create the perfect family retreat and have spared no expense on doing so. The cottage was designed personally by owner Janina Czajka and absolutely everything in here is top end and luxurious.

From underfloor heating, LCD TVs and floor to ceiling windows in the living room to glossy white units and granite worktops in the kitchen, you can sit back and enjoy the high life. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need on your holiday with a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and fabulous breakfast bar.
#05 Local knowledge
All guest arriving at The Copse will be greeted by the friendly and welcoming Czajka family. They have lots of local knowledge and can tell you everything about the surrounding area. From the best pubs to visit to great ideas for days out and local farm shops to try, they can help you make the most of your holiday in this stunning area.

The Local Pantry is a cafe and farm shop just down the road
I would certainly recommend The Copse as an ideal location for spending time with family and friends. Great surroundings, plenty of space and Harrogate close by – what more could you want?
