Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland
Located at York’s Designer Outlet, this winter wonderland is home to the largest outdoor ice rink in the north of England. The Christmas extravaganza also includes vintage funfair rides, games stalls and Santa.
York St. Nicholas Fair
York’s traditional Christmas market is open from from the 15th to the 23rd December and you will find a range of chalet’s selling a range of locally made food and gifts. The fair takes place in Parliament Street, St Sampsons Square and Coppergate and is a perfect choice for getting in the Christmas spirit.
After you’ve browsed the stalls in St Nicholas Fair, head to this Nordic pop-up bar on Parliament Street. It is open from the 14th November and closes its doors on 1st January with a selection of Nordic delicacies on offer such as Gluhwein, hot cider and bratwurst. Inside the large tipi style tent, you’ll find warming fires and cosy firs to stave off the winter chill. The
York Castle Museum
Sample a Victorian Christmas at York Castle Museum from the 25th November until 24th December. Kirkgate, the museum’s traditional Victorian street, will be festively decorated and you may well meet some of its residents. There are also special evening performances of A Christmas Carol on selected dates.
