Contemporary five-star property sleeping up to ten guests, enjoying a farmland location by the village green in the village of Sinderby, close to Thirsk and just twenty miles north of Harrogate in North Yorkshire.

This stunning property in the peaceful village of Sinderby is ideal for groups of friends and families looking to spend quality time together whilst exploring the wonders of the Yorkshire countryside. Located halfway between the North York Moors and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the Yorkshire Dales, there are endless opportunities when it comes to getting out and discovering the area's varied landscapes and natural beauty. Whether you prefer walking, cycling, climbing or another outdoor pursuit, there is bound to be something to suit your interests in the surrounding area. Despite its relatively isolated location, there is a pub within 1 mile of the property and a shop within 3 miles. Thirsk, a larger market town, is 7 miles away with a range of shops, eateries and other amenities. Packed with heritage, it was also once home to a famous vet, James Herriot. After a busy day exploring, return home for a dip in your private hot tub and enjoy a spot of stargazing.

One of four barn conversions located on this working organic farm, this spacious home has been stylishly renovated to a very high standard; exposed beams add character, whilst a neutral palette accentuates the colours and textures of the natural materials used throughout. High vaulted ceilings create a sense of grandeur, whilst contemporary fixtures and fittings create a luxurious, yet comfortable, home.

On the ground floor, a large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner offers the perfect space for everyone to gather and socialise together. The well-equipped kitchen at one end offers all the mod-cons needed to rustle up some treats and the bespoke table and benches provide plenty of seating. At the other end of the room, a comfortable sofa is a good place to unwind, whilst still being part of the action. An additional separate lounge feels cosier with its lower ceiling, wood burner, deep sofas and a piano for guests who like a tinkle on the ivories.

There are two king-size bedrooms on the ground floor, one of which can be made up as a twin on request. They are beautifully decorated with neutral decor to create a sense of calm. One has an en-suite shower room, and the other an en-suite bathroom.

You will find three more delightfully presented bedrooms as you ascend the grand staircase. One of these has an en-suite bathroom and the remaining two have en-suite shower rooms. Four of the five rooms have Smart TVs, which is perfect when trying to cater to everyone's tastes.

Outside, a private courtyard garden is home to a BBQ and dining furniture, so that you can capitalise on warmer weather and enjoy some al fresco dining. This is also where the hot tub resides, so after an enjoyable meal, sink into the bubbles with a glass of your favourite tipple and relax. Beyond the property, guests can enjoy the designated walking route around the owner's farm, where you can see the animals and possibly collect fresh eggs from the hens. Off-road parking is available.

  • 5 king-size bedrooms, 3 of which can be made up as twin rooms on request
  • 3 en-suite shower rooms with shower and WC, and 2 en-suite bathrooms with shower-over-bath and WC
  • TV/DVD, iPod dock, Bluetooth hi-fi, and Smart TV in 4 of the bedrooms

The attractive town of Bedale (8.5 miles) is a great place to have a coffee and then make your way around the town's antique shops and independent boutiques. Foodies will be delighted by the range of local produce, including beers and cheeses, on offer.

The vibrant cathedral city of Ripon (9 miles) boasts a Thursday market, numerous coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and a nice collection of independent shops to explore. The cathedral is smaller than its close neighbour, York Minster, but is still an awe-inspiring sight. In addition, every night for at least 450 years the Ripon Hornblower has sounded the curfew at 9pm from all four sides of the obelisk in the market place, come rain or shine, followed by a 15-minute history of the ceremony and the city – an experience not to be missed! If you are partial to a flutter, Ripon Race Ground has around 15 meets from April to early September. Known as 'Yorkshire's Garden Racecourse' it has a distinct atmosphere harking back to a bygone era – traditional tearooms and bandstands sit alongside the champagne bar.

This area of Yorkshire has enough historical sites to keep you busy for a week with Ripley Castle (16.5 miles), Newby Hall (12 miles) and Norton Conyers (5.5 miles). Visit lovely Fountains Abbey and the gorgeous Studley Royal Water Garden, 12.5 miles away – this World Heritage Site is deservedly one of the National Trust's most visited locations. As well as the spectacular ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, the grounds are home to an Elizabethan Mansion, a medieval deer park and some of the most romantic vistas in the country.

Harrogate (20 miles) is an absolute must-visit if you're staying here. Encircled by its famous Stray, or 200 acres, of horseshoe-shaped grassland, the Victorian spa town of Harrogate has a bright and breezy open-air feel and is characterised by its impressive floral displays. And as you would expect of such a bustling upbeat town, Harrogate boasts over 300 bars and restaurants together with all the shops, cinemas, parks and gardens you could ever wish for.

The vibrant little village of Osmotherley (18 miles) on the western side of the North York Moors is well-known as a starting point for walkers and cyclists. This gorgeous little place is real picture-postcard stuff. It also offers excellent facilities including a cafe, village stores and a fish and chip shop. If you're a bit of a foodie, this part of Yorkshire is packed with fantastic gastropubs, restaurants and delis.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The cottage was the perfect size for 10 people and was lovely and clean. The hosts were excellent and provided everything we needed. The cottage is in a perfect location to visit loads of places, like Brimham Rocks and Harrogate. It was great being able to get fresh eggs from the chickens in the morning and the hoRead moret tub was an added bonus. We would love to stay again in the future! Hide
