Having arrived at this stunning detached property, head inside via the porch and stop off in the hallway. Here you’ll find a stunning staircase which connects the ground floor to the first floor, along with antique-style furniture which introduces the overarching style of this lovingly presented holiday home.

From the hallway step into one of two lounge spaces. The main lounge features an abundance of cushy seating options, a wood burner and a TV/DVD for whiling away an evening together. This is replicated in the second lounge, a spot where an open fire offers a warm and inviting ambience for cooler winter nights. There's a large selection of books and games available for your use when staying here, and the benefit of two lounges ensures that both adults and children have a space to relax as day turns to night.

You’ll always find space for the whole group to come together in the handsome dining room. This space connects both the main living room and the conservatory, making it a social central hub of the stunning property. Complete with exposed brickwork, stone flagged flooring and a sprawling dining table that’ll host ten guests, this spot is perfect for any celebratory meal due to be enjoyed together.

The aforementioned conservatory is a stylishly appointed space with additional seating and floor-to-ceiling windows. A perfect suntrap for warmer weather, this space offers the perfect transition from inside to outside and will no doubt host your late-night drinks on sunny yet chilly evenings.

Complete with a farmhouse-inspired interior and up-to-date appliances, the kitchen is fitted with everything you need to feed the troops. Featuring two electric ovens and a handy dishwasher, cooking for ten won’t be a struggle for whoever’s nominated to keep the family fed.

Heading back via the hallway, discover a private hallway with additional utility functions for staying on top of your chores whilst away. Whilst the property sits within effortless reach of Kendal (7.5 miles) and Kirkby Lonsdale (6.5 miles), its remote location ensures that the peace and tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales can always be appreciated throughout your stay.

Jump in the car and treat the local town of Settle (24 miles) as your base for adventure when staying here and unlock the many wonders of the Yorkshire Dales. This well-loved and bustling market town is home to lots of lovely cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. There's also a thriving market held in the town every Tuesday - the perfect place to pick up everything from flowers to dinner that night. If real ale is your thing, there are three fantastic real ale pubs set around the marketplace, so you can choose which one to try each evening!

Just outside of town, you can hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway, one of the most scenic routes in the UK which will take you over the well-known Ribblehead Viaduct (18 miles). Beyond Settle, you have the exquisite delights of the Yorkshire Dales. And, as you would expect, the surrounding countryside here is simply magnificent, perfect if you want to strike out from the cottage in your walking boots or on your bicycle.

our stay at Three Mile House was perfect- even the weather! The house is in a perfect location and the equipment available at the house was equally perfect. Our party had 2 people with additional needs and these were met higher than expected! We had a lovely time and some fabulous memories made as a family.

10 adults stayed for a birthday weekend and lots of space to relax. lovely clean bathrooms and kitchen well equipped. We hired a chef to cook for us and he had everything he needed. You do need a car but that goes without saying. plenty of parking for 5 cars. Outside tap to rinse dogs down. Lots of clean fresh towels and very comfy beds. loads of cRead morerockery and cutlery which was good for us. Hide

A wonderful property and location in the South Lakes. The owner was incredibly attentive and responded quickly with any queries. It was extremely cosy, with ample room for people to sit at the dining table or in the lounge (this is sometimes a struggle with other properties I've stayed out when it advertises sleeps 8+ but never enough seats in the Read moremain living areas). I highly recommend Three Mile House! Hide

A fabulous house for a holiday, beautiful walks on your doorstep and easy access by car to local areas. The house has everything you need and a hot tub outside, great outside area for BBQs and family get togethers.

To make sure the property has a good deep clean before people come to stay. No good just vacuuming without getting in to the corners and to make sure cobwebs are removed and flies removed. Apart from that we had a lovely holiday.
