In keeping with the feel of the building the decor is one of classic elegance with lots of traditional furnishings and colours giving an authentic ambience. Original stone fireplaces, exposed beams and Georgian-era sash windows add to the period appeal. That's not to say its missing modern comforts, the wonderful Yorkshire flagstone floor is heated throughout downstairs and a heating system keeps the rest of the house toasty warm. At the heart of the home is the spacious sitting room. Comfortable sofas and chairs gather round a large open fire, the perfect welcome home after a day exploring the dales. You'll find books and board games in the book case for some off-line family fun. Just along the hallway is the snug / games room, perfect for children (and adults) to squirrel themselves away in. There's a cosy wood burner in here, a shabby chic sofa and a Smart TV with DVD player A large DVD library will keep all age groups happy and Wi-Fi is available for your own devices. A handy downstairs WC is situated opposite the snug on the ground-floor.
This property offers a gorgeous farmhouse kitchen with flagstone floors, whitewashed stone walls, bespoke units and a solid oak worktop. A charming pastry table sits neatly in the centre of the room and a stable door allows you to enjoy those breathtaking views. You'll find all the usual mod cons including a dishwasher, oven, microwave and a fridge with freezer drawer. A washing machine and dryer can be found in the barn across the yard. A formal dining room sits next door, a wonderfully atmospheric room which lends itself to memorable family gatherings around the table. All four of the bedrooms in the house are on the first floor. Make your way up the amazing original stone staircase to the spacious landing. Most of the upstairs has stripped wooden floorboards underfoot giving it warmth and character. The first bedroom one sits at the rear of the house, a delightful twin with oversized single beds. Bedroom two is across the landing; set at the front of the house the views from this double are stunning. The bathroom sits between both bedrooms and has a bath with a powerful shower.
Bedroom three is along the hallway, another twin, this room enjoys lovely views and has a contemporary en-suite shower room with WC. The final bedroom is a king-size, also front facing it makes the most of the glorious scenery. With only the sound of birdsong to wake you from your slumber in the king-size bed this is a restful space to recuperate at the end of a long or touring. This room also has a generous en-suite with a bath to sink into and soothe your body.
Outside there is sheltered area by the kitchen door. Patio furniture is provided if you fancy lunch al fresco with a Wensleydale backdrop. Listen out for the sound of the river, babbling along at the bottom of the valley and see if you can spot any of the local wild deer. If the kids ever tire of exploring the surrounding countryside they'll be delighted to discover the games room barn, home to a pool table, table tennis table and 'Ring the Bull' game. Hours of fun without leaving the grounds. Additional barns are available for bike storage if required too.
