Set in a picturesque village in the Nidderdale region, this gorgeous 19th century cottage makes a wonderful rural retreat for couples looking to relax in some of Yorkshire's finest countryside.

This attractive two-bedroom 19th century cottage is nestled between the bustling market town of Pateley Bridge and the picturesque rolling hills of Nidderdale. With both bedrooms enjoying en-suite bathrooms and interiors with a real luxury feel, this is the perfect holiday cottage for couples looking for a 5-star rural retreat.

Tucked away in a sleepy little hamlet, this charming double-fronted stone cottage has been decorated and furnished tastefully. Inside you'll find sophisticated interiors - a superb blend of contemporary-style and rustic character.

Downstairs the heart of the home is the peaceful lounge, complete with a cosy wood burner resting in the chimney and warm throws on the seats. Light up the fire, grab a good book and take your pick from the comfy sofa or handsome easy chairs. We love the calming hues in here and you'll feel instantly relaxed the moment you walk in. There's a TV with DVD, film collection as well as games and books to keep you entertained. Wi-Fi is included too.

At the opposite side of the house from the lounge you'll find the kitchen and dining area. The elegant kitchen boasts handsome spacious units and a sleek worktop. It is fully-equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge-freezer. The cupboards are well stocked with all the equipment you'll need during your stay, with everything from serving dishes to egg cups and a toast rack. Rustle up something delicious and head over the lovely dining table to enjoy. Set right by the window you can watch the comings and goings of traditional Yorkshire village life over breakfast, lunch and dinner. Both king-size bedrooms at this property are set upstairs and are dressed in the finest cotton bed linen. The second bedroom can also be made up as two singles if preferred. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms too. The first en-suite has a claw-footed rolltop bath for pure relaxation at the end of a day of hard trekking. The second en-suite bathroom contains a shower over the bath. Both bedrooms have their own flat screen televisions, perfect if you just want to chill in your PJs watching morning TV.

Outside the property, settle down on the bench at the front for your morning coffee and watch the world go by. Discover the private courtyard garden to the side of the property which enjoys the sun the whole day making this a pleasant spot to enjoy an afternoon drink or perhaps lunch or a BBQ alfresco in the warmer months. Exquisite, luxurious, just perfect! Couldnt have asked for more. Even though we didnt see the owners, we felt so welcomed. Bread, milk, bacon, eggs and a beautiful Battenberg cake were waiting for us. The cottage was beautiful and walking distance from the local pub. Will definitely be returning.

A very well equipped house, everything you could want was there and the beds, bedding, furniture, towels etc are all really good quality. Apart from the crown pub (which serves good food) there is absolutely nothing else to do in the village which is great if you just want to switch off.

A last minute booking but we were very pleased with our choice. Comfortable sofas and beds and well equipped kitchen. Lofthouse is 10 miles from the nearest shops in Pateley Bridge but the welcome basket sufficed until we could stock up shopping locally. Great for walks from your doorstep with views as good as any in the dales.
