A beautiful cottage surrounded by endless country views, this property is the perfect getaway for families or couples. Adjoining the owner's farmhouse within a working farm, it is the ultimate rural retreat.

This beautiful presented two-bedroom cottage with far reaching views across open countryside to the Hambleton Hills has elegant comfortable interiors and extensive grounds, which include an orchard. It's the perfect holiday home for families and couples yearning to escape to the country. Dating back to the 1800s, this lovely period property once accommodated the drovers who moved livestock up and down the country. Today it's been transformed by a recent refurbishment into a luxurious and stylish holiday home. Despite introducing modern comforts, the inherent character of the building has been maintained – you'll find the original beams overhead throughout downstairs ceilings.

At the heart of the home is a cosy welcoming lounge with the choice of a comfy sofa or armchair to snuggle up on. Sitting under an inglenook fireplace is the wood-burning stove making sure everyone is nice and toasty. Take a look out the window for the most glorious countryside views, just one of the things that makes this property so special. Wi-Fi is also available if you need to catch up online, and there is a TV, so you don't fall behind on your binge watching. In the next room you'll find a beautiful open-plan space home to the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen features stylish grey units and a sleek granite work-top. All mod cons are provided including an induction hob, fan oven, dishwasher and fridge. A further utility / boot room sits next door and houses a freezer and washer/dryer – a must for little ones' muddy clothes or if you enjoy walking. This area also accommodates a handy downstairs loo. From the kitchen head into the dining area featuring a traditional farmhouse table and chairs. A small inglenook fireplace is home to an electric flame-effect fire, to keep you cosy from breakfast to dinner. There's also a snuggly Laura Ashley-style sofa in here, just the spot to chill with a glass of wine before eats.

Both of the bedrooms in cottage are upstairs and both enjoy generous en-suite facilities. The first boasts a super-king-size bed which can be configured as two singles if requested. Top quality comfort sprung mattresses ensure a quality night's sleep. A wall mounted TV allows you your favourite shows any time of day. This room has an en-suite shower room with a large walk-in monsoon shower. The second double also contains a super-king bed, comfort sprung mattress and wall-mounted TV. The en-suite for this room has a walk-in shower and a separate bath made for those long hot soaks, something you only seem to have time for on holiday. Also, good news if you need to scrub down children. Whilst upstairs you will also encounter a cosy little recess in the landing complete with an armchair and book case. Choose a book and squirrel yourself away in here for the afternoon.

There is much to enjoy outside too, set within the property's extensive grounds enjoys a lovely rural aspect with gorgeous countryside on all sides. There's an enclosed orchard to explore where you'll find Bramley Apples and other fruit trees. Enjoy lunch al fresco on the outdoor table and chairs, a pleasure when the only sound is that of Yorkshire birdsong all around. A BBQ is also provided so you can make the most of those summer evenings. There is off-road parking for several cars.

  • 2 bedrooms: 1 super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into 2 single beds on request), 1 super-king-size

Aptly situated in open countryside with views across to the Hambleton Hills and the White Horse at Kilburn this prospect is found on a working farm, offering all the peace and tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales countryside with the delights of cosmopolitan Harrogate just 9.5 miles away. With miles of stunning walks and mountain bike trails literally from the doorstep, the cottage is heaven for lovers of all things outdoors. Within easy walking distance is the sweet little village of Burton Leonard, it offers local pubs with good pub grub as well as post office and village store. The handsome village of Ripley (6 miles), is a gorgeous little place which looks like a set for Downton Abbey. Little has changed in the village for many years, beautiful old stone buildings line the quiet main street and the local village pub beckons you in with its vine covered exterior and handsome good looks. Serving up great food it's a lovely choice for lunch and dinner. There's an excellent off-road cycle / walking route from Ripley right into Harrogate (5 miles) if you fancy working up an appetite for one of the town's excellent restaurants. Harrogate is an absolute must if you're staying here. Encircled by its famous 'Stray' or '1,000 acres' of horseshoe shaped grassland, the Victorian spa town of Harrogate has a bright and breezy open-air feel and is characterised by its impressive floral displays. And as you would expect of such a bustling upbeat town, Harrogate boasts over 300 bars and restaurants together with all the shops, swimming pools, cinemas, parks and gardens you could ever wish for.

Head a few miles in the opposite direction and you will find Pateley Bridge, a charming little market town very typical of this area of Yorkshire. The Main Street is peppered with cafes, restaurants, local stores, quality butchers and a fantastic wine shop – everything you need to stock up for your stay. You'll also find the self-proclaimed 'Oldest Sweet Shop in England' here dating back to the early 1800s - little has changed inside since then. Pateley Bridge sits at the heart of the breath taking Nidderdale landscape, itself an AONB and immediately adjacent to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are bags of local attractions and stunning natural sights within easy driving distance including the much-loved Brimham Rocks, just a few miles from the cottage.

A super little cottage in a very quiet and tranquil location, well placed for quick & easy access to Ripon, Harrogate, Fountains Abbey etc. Perfect for a relaxing break for a small family or up to two couples. A delightful cottage in a beautiful, tranquil area with stunning views. The furnishings were of a high standard and very comfortable. A good location to take in the Yorkshire Dales and Moors. The 'locals' were quite spectacular - red legged partridge, pheasants, hares and deer! The ice cream shop in Ripley is a definite go to - often!
