This adorable cottage is a super-cosy one-bedroom bijou retreat tucked away in the owners grounds in a very pretty village in the North York Moors. With one of Yorkshire's finest gastro pubs just a stone's throw away, it's the perfect couples escape. The main living space is all open plan, and with high ceilings and wonderful patio doors it gives the cottage a bright and comfortable feel. The kitchen provides everything you need to cook including a ceramic hob, oven and microwave. And if you need it, you also have access to a washing machine, dryer and larger freezer in a separate building beside the cottage. Guests will arrive to a yummy welcome hamper of essentials with a few treats thrown in, and some home-brewed sloe gin too for that afternoon tipple.

There is comfortable and stylish sofa to sink into each evening, the perfect place to curl up and watch a movie on the TV/DVD. Wi-Fi is also provided if you want to catch up online. The dining table is set by the patio doors affording a gorgeous view of the gardens and North York Moors countryside beyond. Throw open the doors and enjoy lunch to the lovely sound of birdsong all around. And when it's time for bed you can look forward to a king-size bed dressed in crisp white cotton bedding. Situated in the picturesque village of Crayke less than 14 miles north of York. History scholars believe the village to be the spot where the Grand Old Duke of York Marched his Men to the Top of Hill, the village commands wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. There's a lovely circular walk which takes in all the joys of the surrounding area.

The village is a charming little place, very typical of those found in this area of Yorkshire. Perfectly positioned to visit the very best of North Yorkshire, the cottage sits in an area called the Howardian Hills. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, this land of lush pastures and woodlands plays host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns. There is also a great selection of fine dining establishments in and around Crayke that are well worth booking a table at during your holiday.

If walking is your thing there are lots of beautiful walks in the area, some right from the doorstep. And if you fancy some serious hiking the North York Moors landscape offers some of the best walking in the country. Take a trip up to the top of the high moorlands around Blakey Ridge and breathe in that clear Yorkshire air.
