A property bursting with original character, located within a peaceful village, serving as a perfect retreat for lovers of the great outdoors looking to discover the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales.

Set in beautiful Wharedale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Croft House is a traditional and cosy stone cottage boasting stunning views from almost every room. Sleeping up to six guests in comfort across four bedrooms (with a games room) it's the perfect holiday cottage for families and groups of friends. And if you're a keen walker, this property is holiday heaven.

Dating back to the 17th century, this house is full of original character with exposed stone walls, oak beams and low doorways creating an atmospheric and comforting appeal. Downstairs you'll discover a generous sitting room with a roaring open fire at its heart and warm wood panelling on the walls. Snuggle down on the comfy sofas, light up the fire and enjoy a good old catch-up over a pot of tea. There's a TV/DVD in here, and Wi-Fi is included too. Plenty of books and games are provided if you fancy some offline fun with the kids. Walking maps are also provided if you want to strike out from the doorstep. The views out to the garden and Dale beyond are delightful from this room. The cottage kitchen is just across from here and sits next to the separate dining area.

The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and toaster included for your convenience. A separate utility houses a large fridge/freezer, washing machine and ironing equipment. The dining room is the central room in the house and is full of character with its stone walls and original stone fireplace. A gorgeous place to dine and enjoy family time together.

An additional reception room / snug can be accessed from the dining room. Perfect if the kids (or the adults!) need their own space. This room comes complete with a sofa bed and enjoys direct views out to the garden. A wet-room style bathroom sits off this room and features a large walk-in shower with WC. All of the bedrooms are upstairs; two doubles and two singles: the first double boasts those exposed stone walls and beams again, with stunning views across the Dales. The second double sits at the rear of the cottage and offers peace and quiet to those who prefer to be tucked away. Both singles have full size beds which sleep adults comfortably. The bathroom is also upstairs and includes a bath with a shower overhead. Perfect if you need to bathe little ones, or if you fancy a long hot soak after a day's walking in the Dales.

Kids and adults alike will love the new games room which is located above the garage. Building memories or simply giving in to your competitive side this room offers hours of fabulous fun and perfect for all the family. Outside the property you'll find a wonderful mature and South-facing garden with a large lawn and patio to dine at the warmer months. Garden furniture and a BBQ are provided for you. The views from here are simply fabulous. Throw out a picnic blanket, settle down and just soak up the sights and sounds of the Yorkshire Dales from the comfort of your gorgeous garden. And when the mood takes you, wander down to the local village pub for a drink or bite to eat. There is ample off-road parking for up four cars in the driveway for convenience.

Set in the picture postcard village of Starbotton in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. From the cottage you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding countryside from almost every room. And as you would expect, the surrounding countryside here is simply paradise for walkers and cyclists - perfect if you want to just strike out from the cottage without having to jump in the car. The village of Starbotton is also home to a great village pub, just a stone's throw from the cottage it's a great option if you don't feel like cooking one night.

The equally gorgeous villages of Kettlewell, Arncliffe and Grassington (all under 10 miles) are within easy reach and are all well worth a visit. Just 18 miles away you'll find the vibrant market town of Settle home to lots of lovely cafes, restaurants pubs and shops in the square. There's also a thriving market held in the town every Tuesday, the perfect place to pick up everything from flowers to dinner that night. In town you can also hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway, one of the most scenic routes in the UK which takes you over the well-known Ribblehead viaduct. The historic town of Skipton (11.5 miles) is also close by and offers a host of other attractions including its very own castle. There are lots of options to eat here as well as independent shops marking it a great option for a full day out. Other nearby attractions include the Kilnsey Trout Farm and horse-riding at Coniston, Malham. It's a true walkers’ dream and you are very close to the famous Three Peaks. If you're more of a roamer than a rambler, take a stroll around the grounds of nearby Bolton Abbey. These gorgeous ruins provide the backdrop to a particularly beautiful part of the Dales and are well worth a visit.

Wonderful cottage, fully equipped, comfortable and plenty of space for a large family. Our three teenage boys loved the games room. The views and location really are amazing. We all enjoyed sitting in the large garden, it was so peaceful. Stone walls and gates surround the property making it secure for children or dogs. The cottage was in an beautiful area, with a safe garden for our dog. It was very well equipped and there wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't there. We even used the games room on a couple of the evenings. We were very lucky with the weather, but I imagine that the games room would be ideal, if the weather was bad. Period cottage , in beautiful valley on the Dale's Way. Small but well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds and sitting room. Pretty south facing secure garden.

We enjoyed a very welcoming and comfortable stay at Croft House. The cottage is very well equipped and spacious, inside and out, and we really enjoyed the Games Room! The location is fabulous - amazing views of the Dales from all aspects and lovely walks on the doorstep. A very well equipped cottage, comfortable and homely. Excellent fully enclosed garden with numerous walks from the door. Lots of maps and books provided. We stayed during exceptionally hot weather so long walks limited but the cottage stayed cool at all times.

Croft House is a lovely cottage, very comfortable and well equipped and in a beautiful Dales village with a quaint village pub. Fantastic location for walking, lovely village with excellent pub,2 minutes walk away. Cottage grew on us after a couple of days after tinkering with the heating. Nice lounge with good supply of logs and coal. The honesty box is a good idea,which other cottage owners should follow.

We had a lovely stay at Croft House it had everything you could want for a very relaxing holiday. We had some very wet weather but we saw the waterfalls at their best and it was so nice to come back to Croft House to an open fire. It was so peaceful and the area is stunning with some great walks straight from the door. We enjoyed some nice meals ouRead moret at The George in Hubberholme and The Blue Bell Inn in Kettlewell which are dog friendly. We would love to return to Croft House. Hide

The cottage was perfect for our family ( from 15 to 75) The setting was delightful. If you are lucky you will see the sheep being driven along the lane beside the cottage. It is perfectly placed for several walks, some tricky and some relaxing. There are many things to do in the area but be prepared to drive as you really are in the middle of the dRead moreales.
