Accessed through an arched gateway in a walled garden, this magical two-bedroom holiday cottage set in a pretty village just 15 minutes from central York. Secluded, romantic and gorgeous; the perfect luxury Yorkshire cottage for couples and small families alike.

Evoking a distinctive Alice in Wonderland-style entrance to the property, it promises and delivers something special. A stunning brick cottage, it sits behind a beautiful Georgian-era manor house in the centre of a charming Yorkshire Wold's village. The cottage has a lovely aspect looking out onto towards the gardens and orchard of the manor house.

Step inside to discover a stylish open plan living space with the kitchen to your right and the living area to your left. The hand-crafted kitchen is really well proportioned and comes complete with everything you would expect of a cottage of this quality. There's a dishwasher, large fridge-freezer and a range cooker with gas hob. There's also a washing machine here too and a handy WC with underfloor heating. The handsome dining table nestles comfortably by the stairs. Seating up to four guests in comfort, it's a very pleasant spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make your way on over to the spacious living area. Plenty of room for you to spread out and relax. Fire up the wood burner and choose the latest movie on the TV. Or just put your feet up and indulge in a glossy magazine with a nice cup of tea. Wi-Fi is included too if you want to catch up with your world.

Both bedrooms in this lovely cottage near York are set upstairs. The master is a fabulous bedroom with double aspect views across the gardens and grounds. There is a stunning double height arched window to enjoy and a beautiful cast iron king-size bed too. The second bedroom is just along the landing, an adorable twin room which the owner will make up as a super-king or twin depending on your preferences. Kids will also love the rabbit night-light in here. The views from this room are simply fantastic. The family bathroom sits between the two, a real jaw-dropper with its huge free-standing bath and large walk-in shower. There's a Smart mirror which has a light responsive to touch and plenty of natural light streaming in from the skylights. It's the perfect bathroom to take your time in. Enjoy a long lazy soak after a day's shopping in York.

Outside the cottage really lives up to its name. Settle down on the completely private patio and enjoy lunch al fresco, with only the sound of birds to disturb you. The extensive grounds of the main house are available for your use and include a large garden and lawn, an orchard and a treehouse for little ones to explore. Handy for York without having the hassle of parking there - park and ride from every side of the city was easy-peasy. No decent local pub or eatery so suggest you bring supplies or use chain restaurants at mount cross shopping centre. Apart from some minor issues the cottage is well equipped and beds were warm/comfortable.

Very convenient for York and surrounding areas. Inside the property is OK, but sadly the outside areas are very scruffy and unkempt.
