Stone cottage boasting country-chic interiors, set within a picture-postcard location in the Yorkshire countryside, ideally situated to explore the North York Moors and the delightful rugged coastline.

Looking out onto a beautiful moors' village, this property is a gorgeous stone-built cottage housing accommodation over three floors. With its country-chic interiors, picture-postcard location and views of the North York Moors beyond the garden fence, it's an idyllic country retreat for couples and young families alike.

The interior of this holiday home is classic country, with all of the contemporary comforts thrown in. The character of the building has been preserved with exposed stonework, ceiling beams and aged timber/stone floors featured throughout.

Downstairs in this North York Moors cottage you'll find a cosy lounge with a wood burning stove and TV alongside a stunning farmhouse kitchen complete with Belfast sink, butcher's block, and flagstone flooring. Patio doors lead out to the garden giving the kitchen a sense of space and light. It also allows you to enjoy the views of the North York Moors over breakfast at your kitchen table.

There is a central hallway in the cottage with winding stairs leading up to the family bathroom and bedrooms above. There is also a convenient cloakroom down here. Parents should note there is a section of open staircase from the hallway up to the first floor, so we ask you take extra care with children

The family bathroom has a lovely roll-top bath, perfect to sink into each evening and there is a separate stand-in shower. It has a bright, fresh look - just what you want in a country cottage bathroom.

The first of the bedrooms is a very sweet twin room with a white and blue theme. There is also ample room in here for a travel cot and this can be supplied if required. The master bedroom occupies the top floor. A lovely cosy room with seagrass flooring, a huge antique iron bed, luxury bed linen and exposed brickwork. A gorgeous room to retreat to after a busy day exploring.

To the rear of this luxury cottage there is a pretty patio area and lawned garden, a lovely spot for al fresco dining in the summer months with plenty of room for little ones to run around too.

This countryside retreat is situated, in our opinion, in one of the prettiest villages in the North York Moors.

The village boasts several pubs and there are several more fantastic restaurants and gastropubs within the local area. Egton village is famous for the annual gooseberry show every August, thought to be the oldest of its kind in England.

This area of the Moors is particularly blessed with countless pretty towns and villages you could explore, with the added advantage of having the Yorkshire Coast and Whitby just under 7 miles away.

Local attractions include the steam trains of the North York Moors Railway at Grosmont (2 miles), the stunning beaches at Sandsend (7 miles) and Whitby, and the amazing Moors landscape all around.

A home from home. Very comfortable. Excellent location for walking. We enjoyed our walks on the Moors as well as on the Cleveland Way. Close to local amenities yet a rural location. The owners provided a thoughtful welcome pack. The owners are clearly dog lovers and our dogs enjoyed their stay too. Thank you.

The garden is lovely with lots of late evening sun and the Wheatsheaf is a stunning pub, for both drinks and food, but make sure you book ahead for a meal. Lovely welcome package and the cottage was presented beautifully when we arrived.
