Welcome to this gorgeous one-bedroom luxury cottage tucked away on the cusp of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This magical property ticks every box with its stunning interiors, spacious accommodation and lovely gardens including your very own orchard to explore. And as the name of the cottage suggests, you can enjoy village cricket on your doorstep in the warmer months, so grab a picnic blanket and let's go!

This property is an exquisite and quirky holiday home with a handsome wood exterior and Scandi-inspired interior. Make your way in via the charming rustic wood veranda and discover surprisingly generous light-filled rooms inside, with solid oak block flooring underfoot and quality fixtures and fittings throughout.

At the heart of the cabin is a double height open space home to the lounge area, kitchen and breakfast bar. A stylish contemporary wood-burning stove nestles in the corner and sunlight floods in from the large sliding doors leading to the patio. Take a seat by the window and enjoy views out to the garden or cosy up in the true spirit of Hygge on the sumptuous snuggle chair and settle down to a movie. A Smart TV with Netflix provides the evening entertainment and there's a Sonos Bluetooth speaker so you can choose your own soundtrack. Wi-Fi is also provided too.

The kitchen boasts striking aubergine units and comes well equipped with a NEFF domino induction hob, NEFF fan oven, fridge and dishwasher. Rustle up something delicious while your other half keeps you company on the bar stools topped with Icelandic sheepskin seat pads - just the place to pop open a bottle of bubbly before dinner. And if you don't feel like cooking one night, you'll find a range of quality frozen meals to buy in the garage freezer.

At the opposite end of the cabin is the master bedroom, another bright and welcoming room with generous proportions and charming details. A king-size bed allows you to stretch out and enjoy your own space. Reindeer and sheepskin rugs add to the stylish comfortable feel.

The house bathroom is just next door. Decorated in a simple elegant style there's a bath to sink into each evening and a shower overhead. Heating under the floor tiles keep your toes nice and warm.

There is much to enjoy outside this gorgeous property too. Starting with the rustic wood veranda by the front door. It's made for those morning coffees or afternoon G & Ts where the cares of the world seem far away. Make your way around to the lovely stone patio just by the lounge doors. Take a seat on the elegant cast iron bistro set and enjoy views down the garden towards the orchard and paddock. This sheltered little spot is perfect for lunch alfresco in the warmer months and when it starts to get a little chillier light up the fire-bowl.

When the mood takes you, go for a wander around down to the Paddock where the resident (friendly) Zwartble sheep will greet you or enjoy a little snooze on the hammock in the garden.

The village of Thornton Watlass is located in the breathtakingly beautiful region of lower Wensleydale. Its’ pretty backdrop is the village green where the village pub serves local cask ales and traditional pub food.

It perfectly situated at the tip of the beautiful valley of Wensleydale with its majestic castles, tumbling waterfalls, picturesque villages and tempting restaurants. The unspoilt wilderness of Swaledale famous for its meadows, heather moors is home to some of Yorkshire’s best walking, Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire cycling routes. The little discovered Coverdale is steeped in history with the dramatic Park Rash pass. Little wonder this area is the setting for the current popular tv programmes Our Yorkshire Farm and All Creatures Great and Small.

Nearby Masham is a thriving market town. The square is one of the largest and finest in England famous for its Sheep Fair held in September each year. The two famous breweries both have visitor centres were you can book brewery tours, sample their ales and take a few bottles home. Swinton Park is a 20000 acre estate and is great place for a tranquil spa day in their newly built Country Club and Spa featured on Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby BBC2.

Half a mile away is Thorpe Perrow Arboretum, the most important Arboretum in the North of England it covers 100 acres and is currently home to 5 National Plant Collections and 51 Champion Trees.

The nearby Georgian market town of Bedale, has a high street of independent shops and takeaways and the authentic heritage Wensleydale Railway runs a service to Redmire passing through some beautiful dales scenery.

If you fancy a trip to the cinema Ripon has an Everyman and with the Thursday market, Cathedral, eateries and shops it provides the perfect day out.

If history is your thing a short drive away are the historic sites of Middleham Castle, favourite home of Richard III, the privately owned historic Cistercian Jervaulx Abbey, 14th century Bolton Castle which imprisoned Mary Queen of Scots for six months and Fountains Abbey and Water Gardens the best preserved ruined Cistercian monastery in England and world heritage site.

Amongst the surrounding villages and towns are Middleham the Newmarket of the north where you can see some of the best race horses in the country on the gallops on top of Middleham moor.

Drive out to Hawes to visit the Creamery home of Wallace and Gromit’s favourite cheese, Yorkshire Wensleydale of course.

A day trip to the exciting city of York will take you back in time to the medieval cobbled streets. The Shambles often regarded as Europe’s best preserved mediaeval street can be seen and from the ancient Roman walls and the Minster is the finest Norman cathedral in Europe. North Yorkshire Moors National Park is to the east and many guests visit magnificent historic Castle Howard.

A perfectly sensible alternative option would be to stay put and relax Little Wickets. Sit comfortably in the peaceful surroundings, relax and gaze out at the many birds, owls, hedgehogs, rabbits, and the resident sheep.
