Welcome to a gorgeous country cottage with chocolate-box good looks and a beautiful village location. This quintessentially English cottage is set on the borders of North Yorkshire and Durham, so you are well placed to explore the delights of both counties. This special little cottage is just perfect for honeymoons and romantic escapes with your loved one.
If you closed your eyes and pictured the perfect holiday cottage, we're pretty sure it would look something like this. Set in a beautiful walled garden, the immaculate double-fronted stone cottage is like something from a fairytale. Step inside the sage green door to discover a stunning contemporary holiday home with character at every turn.
Boasting beautiful flagstone floors with underfloor heating throughout, the open-plan living area is home to the lounge, kitchen and dining area. At the heart of this room is a fantastic stone inglenook fireplace, with a cosy wood burner sitting inside. All wood and kindling for the burner are also provided for you. There's a large and comfortable sofa complete with a cosy throw, perfect for curling up on together while you catch a movie on the TV. There's also Netflix, a DVD and Wi-Fi included.
The kitchen sits to the rear of the cottage: an elegant and well-thought-out out space with glossy work-tops and contemporary units. A dishwasher, microwave and built in hob/oven are included. A separate utility to the rear of the cottage houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. You'll find the cupboards well-stocked with crockery and utensils, everything you'll need to rustle up a romantic dinner for two. There's also a welcome hamper waiting for you on arrival. The dining area sits next to the fire, a lovely spot whatever the time of day.
The heated flagstone flooring continues into the bedroom, which is a peaceful and romantic room featuring a king-size bed dressed in the finest luxury bedding. What a joy waking up in this beautiful room, knowing there's no rush to get out of bed. The bathroom is situsated next door. Again, with heated flagstone flooring there is a walk-in shower and a separate bath in here. So, plenty of candle-lit soaks with a glass of bubbly in hand!
Outside the cottage, there's that traditional English walled garden to enjoy. A patio area next to the house comes complete with patio furniture for those long lazy lunches in the sun. Afterwards, throw down a blanket on the lawn and indulge yourself with a little snooze. There is also a pleasant paved area to the rear of the cottage which has its own bistro table and chairs. A lovely spot for that morning coffee, or perhaps an afternoon tipple. The separate utility to the rear of the cottage is perfect for storing muddy boots after a hike across the Dales and is also ideal for storing bikes if cycling is your thing.
