This sweet little three-bedroom holiday cottage is set in the gorgeous seaside village of Sandsend, just a few miles North of Whitby. With its stunning location, sea views and charming interiors, it's the perfect coastal cottage for families and couples alike.

There is so much to love at this pretty stone cottage. Set in an elevated position looking down over the village, everything from the name to the fabulous view gives you a warm happy feeling! Step inside to discover interiors which have been given an understated elegant appeal.

At the heart of the home is the lovely sitting room which enjoys dual aspect windows: to the front, you have views out over the village and down to the sea and to the rear out onto the patio and cottage garden. Curl up on one of two large comfy sofas and warm your toes by the flame-effect electric fire, the perfect way to end a bracing walk along Sandsend Beach. The TV has an internet-based Sky Now TV box for your use along with a DVD player and some box sets to get you started. Wi-Fi is provided too.

Next door you'll find the open-plan kitchen and dining area, a cosy and intimate space, again enjoying glorious views. The kitchen is well equipped to provide you with everything you'll need on holiday including a dishwasher and washing machine. The dining table sits right by the window so you can look out to sea over breakfast. Heavenly! All three bedrooms in the cottage are set upstairs; two double rooms and a sweet twin room with full-size bunk beds. The property will sleep up to 6 adults, however for comfort the cottage is more suited to 4 adults and 2 children. The family bathroom is also upstairs. There's a bath to sink into each evening and a shower overhead too.

Outside, the cottage boasts front and rear gardens. Enjoy your morning coffee on the bench to the front of the cottage, looking down directly over the village and to the beach. And for those al fresco lunches, move around to the rear and settle down with a bottle of something lovely on one of two patios. It's a very pleasant sheltered little spot with a cottage-style garden and patio furniture. The shed is also home to deck-chairs with buckets and spades if you fancy a mooch down to the beach.

The cottage is set in the beautiful and very popular village of Sandsend near Whitby; you can be walking along the beach within minutes of leaving the house. Tucked away up some steps, in a quiet valley looking down towards the sea, this charming Yorkshire cottage is also just a few miles from some of the most stunning scenery in the North York Moors.

Sandsend is set on the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline; a heady mix of rugged clifftops, peaceful bays and pretty fishing villages. With long sandy beaches and all the traditional seaside trimmings of yesteryear, you can indulge in a classic English seaside holiday. That's not to say it's stuck in the past; in fact, the Yorkshire Coast's villages and towns combine the traditional with the contemporary effortlessly, with trinket shops and tea rooms sitting alongside upmarket restaurants and champagne bars. Sandsend itself is a gorgeous little seaside village. With its handsome promenade, long stretch of beach, several excellent eating options and world-class day spa, you could happily spend your whole holiday here.

The property is also just a few miles from the beautiful town of Whitby (3 miles). With its wonderful seaside heritage, excellent restaurants, independent shops and host of bars and cafes along medieval streets, it has so much to offer the discerning holidaymaker. It's also well worth striking out to sample some of the other coastal villages nearby. Robin Hood's Bay (8 miles) is one of the most popular coastal locations in Yorkshire - or the UK for that matter. The village is a maze of cobbled streets and higgledy-piggledy houses which seem to tumble down towards the sea. Staithes (7 miles) and Runswick Bay (6 miles) are also all within easy driving distance, each with their own unique charm.

Drive inland from the cottage and you can be in the heart of the North York Moors within minutes. Take a tour of the impossibly pretty towns and villages in the area and make sure you head up to the high moorland of Castleton Rigg (15 miles) - we guarantee on a clear day it will take your breath away.

The cottage is in a wonderful location, in a lovely valley only a short walk from a few places to eat and great walks along the coastline. Certain parts of the cottage do however need a refurb, especially when compared to similarly priced places. The cottage was also unfortunately less clean than we hoped on arrival, mainly from previous guests witRead moreh dogs. The lounge is very comfortable and cosy. Hide

Booked in a hurry then saw previous reviews and was concerned so contacted Holiday Cottages and they spoke to the owner. I am pleased to say that we found the cottage in a clean condition. There is much to like but have to concur with earlier reviewers in that the owners need to undertake some maintenance and upgrading work. The location of the cotRead moretage is super and some TLC would make all the difference and bring the cottage up to the standard that you would expect for the price paid. Hide
