Spacious, stylish and luxurious, this gorgeous holiday home is perfect for couples looking for something special. The cottage has been lovingly transformed from an old farm building into a beautiful and elegant holiday home. The inherent character of the barn remains and has been enhanced by a sympathetic, quality refurbishment. Modern comforts like underfloor heating are a welcome addition.

At the heart of the property, you'll find a 30-foot open-plan living area, home to the lounge, kitchen and dining room. There's a lovely sense of space and light in here with high ceilings and bi-folding doors at the end of the room. In the warmer months throw the doors open wide and enjoy the spectacular views of the Howardian Hills - you can see for 20 miles from here!

The lounge area is home to a fabulous contemporary wood burner, a warming spot to return to each evening. There's a comfortable sofa to curl up on or a couple of chairs if you want to pull up close to the fire. For your entertainment, there's an LCD TV and Wi-Fi is provided. At the opposite end of the room is the spacious kitchen and dining area. All mod cons are provided including a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, Lavazza coffee machine and washing machine/tumble dryer. The generous table is the perfect spot to spread out the morning papers and enjoy a long lazy breakfast.

Make your way next door to the bedroom, another gorgeous room boasting a 7ft super king-size bed. The bedroom can also be configured as a twin if preferred. Sumptuous pocket spring mattresses and quality bed linen ensure an excellent night's sleep. The bathroom continues the luxurious theme with its striking lime green tiles and monsoon head shower over the bath. Indulge with a long hot soak after a walk across the moors, glass of bubbly optional!

There is much to enjoy outside of this luxury Yorkshire Cottage too. Step out of the bi-folding doors onto a private terrace looking out over the North York Moors. Garden furniture is provided as well as a BBQ for those balmy summer evenings. Additional facilities include a hard court for tennis, a billiards room and a croquet set, so lots to keep you entertained. A hot tub can also be arranged for guests wishing to hire, at an additional cost starting from £175.00.

The property has an enviable location, sitting within a farm on the cusp of the North York Moors. This gorgeous rural setting is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, much of which you can see from the property. There are no less than three established footpaths leading directly from the farm across stunning countryside to neighbouring villages and towns including a lovely walk to Hutton-Le-Hole. Stop for lunch at a pub before taking a tour around the Ryedale Museum or Chocolate Factory!

The cottage is close to Gillamoor, an attractive North York Moors village with a local village pub. Just over a mile south takes you to the pretty town of Kirkbymoorside which has much to offer including a gallery, antique shops, tea rooms, deli, wine shop and butchers. There's also a great market on Wednesdays. From there you can move on to the vibrant and attractive Yorkshire market towns of Pickering (10 miles) and Helmsley (8 miles), both of which have an abundance of good restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops.

Beyond the farm lies the North York Moors. A landscape like no other, it's a place of gently rolling hills of heather, ancient woodlands and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. If you want to get away from it all take a trip to the top of the high central moorlands. The famous Blakey Ridge affords some of the best views in the country and is just a few miles from the cottage. And if walking is your thing, you are surrounded on all sides by some truly stunning routes.

The property is also close to the North Yorkshire Coast, with the gothic town of Whitby (30 miles) and the picture-postcard fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay 35 miles away. Take a day trip here and experiences the sights, sounds and tastes of Yorkshire's coastline. Fish 'n Chips at the Magpie Cafe is a must!

Loved our time at the Escape. The cottage was really well equipped, warm and very clean. The Welcome Pack was an added bonus. The owner Jane was so accommodating when we had to switch dates at the last minute due to snow. Would love to return in the Spring/Summer.
