The Hay Barn - Slingsby

Welcome to this beautiful large barn conversion set in the North York Moors, just outside the very pretty village of Hovingham.

Although the interior style is quite contemporary, the use of exposed brickwork and wooden beams maintain the feel of the old barn. There are four double bedrooms, two of them with a charming mezzanine level upstairs. The cottage also features a dramatic double-height dining room, a large farmhouse kitchen and a very comfortable lounge area complete with wood burner. Flagstone flooring adds to the luxurious, rustic feel.

There are little touches inside and out which ensure the cottage's year-round appeal. For the summer months, the south-facing courtyard and gardens feature a hot tub, patio and BBQ area. With fantastic views across the countryside beyond, it's a gorgeous spot for al fresco fun. In the winter months, the wood burner and comfortable sofas make for the perfect cosy hideaway.

The cottage has its own exclusive hot tub and also shared access to some fantastic leisure facilities including a mini gym, treatment room, sauna and relaxation area, as well as a fully-stocked games room with table tennis, pool and table football

• 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
• There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £350 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £40. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

The Hay Barn is set in the rolling Howardian Hills in the western reaches of the North York Moors. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, the lush pastures and woodlands of the western Moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns.

The very pretty village of Hovingham is just a couple of miles' drive and features several pubs, a tea room and a local store. The beautiful market town of Helmsley is just ten miles away and is also well worth a visit. If you fancy a little pampering, you'll find a fantastic day spa here; the Verbena Spa. Perfect for a little indulgence!

You're also close to Castle Howard (4 miles), York (18 miles) and the North Yorkshire coast, so lots of choice for day trips.

If you're a fan of charming country pubs, the gorgeous Grapes at Slingsby is a very pleasant walk away.
