The gorgeous one-bedroom property has one of the hottest addresses in town, within easy walking distance to the beach, shops, cafes and restaurants of this charming seaside resort. The perfect escape for couples who love everything on the doorstep.

Set within a historic building near the Rotunda Museum and Spa Bridge, this property has been subject to a quality refurbishment giving it a sophisticated and urban style. The character of the building has been retained throughout, and history buffs will love discovering some of the old workings which are still on show in the lounge.

The accommodation in this contemporary coastal property is set on the first floor over various levels, with all rooms looking out towards the sea. The sitting room is on the upper level; a bright and stylish room boasting a unique semi-circular shape, double period sash windows, warm oak flooring and a large comfortable sofa to relax on. There's an LCD TV and Wi-Fi included too if you need to catch up online. For those cosy evenings in, there's a living flame electric stove to warm your toes by.

The kitchen sits next door - a spacious room kitted out with sleek glossy units and all mod cons including a touch-screen hob, microwave and dishwasher. There's also a large breakfast bar area with stools with coastal views, the perfect spot to settle down and enjoy some fresh seafood from one of the fishmongers in town. The bedroom is also on the upper level, a gorgeous room which makes the most of those stunning views. A real romantic's space, there are two large sash windows and a double bed to stretch out on. Wake up to the sound of seagulls overhead and enjoy a lazy breakfast in bed gazing out to sea. The bathroom sits right next door and comes complete with a bathtub for those long hot soaks, the perfect way to end a bracing walk along Yorkshire's breathtaking coastline.

Outside the property, you'll find a pleasant lawned green with an elevated position looking down to the sea. Throw down a rug and enjoy a picnic here in the warmer months. And of course, the beautiful sandy beaches are about a mile away.

There are plenty of options for parking near the property and the owner provides parking tickets for the duration of your stay.

  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher
  • 1 medium sized dog welcome
  • Shop, pub and beach within walking distance
  • LCD TV with Freeview
  • Please note that there are 3 steps from the kitchen into the lounge and there are 7 steps from the kitchen to the bedroom

  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week

The property has a fabulous location with one of the best sea views of any holiday cottage along the Yorkshire Coast. Right in the heart of town, you have all of the delights of Scarborough within a mile including its gorgeous sandy beaches, cafes and restaurants.

Make your way up through the historic streets to explore Scarborough Castle, situated less than a mile from the property or pop into St Mary's churchyard to visit Anne Bronte's grave. Enjoy a stroll around the South Cliff area taking in the famous spa and Italian Gardens. Catch the cliff lift down to the beach and walk around to the peaceful North Bay, visit the renowned Sea Life Centre or explore the beautiful Peasholm Park with its boating lake, woodland walks and oriental influences.

The property is within easy reach of the rest of the Yorkshire Coast. Much like its Cornish counterpart, the North Yorkshire coastline is a heady mix of rugged cliff tops, peaceful bays and pretty fishing villages. With long sandy beaches and all the traditional seaside trimmings of yesteryear, this is proper bucket 'n spade territory. That's not to say it's stuck in the past, in fact, the coast's villages and towns combine the traditional with the contemporary effortlessly, with trinket shops and tea rooms sitting alongside upmarket champagne and oyster bars.

This region is best known for the gorgeously gothic town of Whitby (20 miles). Playing host at one time to Romans, Saxons, Celts and Danes amongst others, the town's rich heritage is immediately obvious. Straddling the river Esk and dominated by the 13th century ruins of St Hilda's Abbey on the East Cliff, Whitby's crooked cobbled streets and picturesque harbour have been a magnet for artists and tourists alike for centuries. Robin Hood's Bay (20 miles) and Sandsend (25 miles) are also worth a visit, each with their own unique charm.

The property's position means you are also perfectly placed to take in the best of North York Moors. This dramatic landscape of heather and open moorland which is just 20 miles away. Somewhat smaller than the Yorkshire Dales, the North Yorkshire Moors still cover an area of almost 600 square miles and like the Dales, you can easily find yourself miles from anywhere relatively quickly. But there is something distinctly more civilised and less remote about the Moors. In place of harsh limestone and dramatic peaks, you'll find gently rolling hills of heather, ancient woodland and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. There is a sense of wilderness, particularly on top of the high central moorlands, but it is cast in comforting soft focus.

We recommend taking the road from Thornton-Le-Dale or Pickering north towards Whitby to experience it in all its grandeur. There are countless pretty villages and towns to explore in the area.

So close you the beach you can see the seafront from all the front windows, a very comfortable and relaxing place for some time away or excellent for creatives to work. Its not a place to stay if you have accessibility needs, lots of stairs and on a hill. Pack light unless youre good to take multiple trips up and down the hill/steps.

This is a perfect place for a holiday in Scarborough. It is great being able to watch the bridge and the beach right from the window and thus observe the coming and the going of the sea. Nevertheless, it would be even greater if the city would not let the seagulls occupy the bridge... Scarborough seems to have had better times, but it is a good staRead morerting point for a holiday at the Yorkshire coast, being more authentic and not so heavily crowded by tourists like places like Whitby.
