Welcome to this stunning large luxury holiday home with hot tub in the Yorkshire Dales. Sleeping up to 12 people, the spacious and luxurious barn is the perfect option for special family celebrations and get-togethers with friends. Stunning views and a great foodie local pub completes the package. The house is set on what was once a working dairy farm. In its former life, it was a storage barn for the cattle's hay but it has now been turned into a gorgeous family holiday home.

Downstairs at the heart of the house is the large living room complete with a stone-built open fire. This comfortable and welcoming room boasts uninterrupted views of the estate and Yorkshire countryside beyond from its huge set of floor to ceiling windows. Light up the fire and settle down here each evening with your nearest and dearest. This room also has a chunky wooden dining table and warm oak floorboards. A large LCD TV/DVD player and Wi-Fi are included, as are more traditional board games and toys for some offline entertainment.

Next door you'll find the spacious kitchen with traditional wooden units and cool sleek tiles underfoot. It shares those same gorgeous views with the large French doors and picture windows framing the scene outside. There is an additional wooden table in here, perfect for younger ones to sit at or for adults who can perch happily with a glass of wine while someone rustles up dinner.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'll need to rustle up a family dinner. And if you don't feel like cooking one evening, the local gastro pub (bookable in advance) can provide catering services for you. A separate utility room houses the washing machine and dryer.

There are five large bedrooms in the property, all of which have their own en-suite facilities. Bedroom one is a stunning master bedroom set on the ground floor. Featuring a bespoke oak king-size bed this room has an en-suite bathroom complete with a jacuzzi bath and shower overhead. The remaining bedrooms are all upstairs. Three have king-size beds, beautiful views to the front and en-suite shower rooms with WC. One of these rooms also has a fabulous free-standing bath set into the corner of the room. A fifth bedroom is perfect for families as it sleeps up to four people in four full-size beds.

There is much to love outside in this large luxury property too. A delightful south-facing enclosed courtyard sits at the rear of the barn featuring patio furniture, BBQ area and of course that family-sized hot tub. To the front are further stone terraces affording beautiful views across the estate. Guests are more than welcome to walk around the estate and meet the local wildlife. The cross-country walk by the church and down to the village pub is highly recommended. For little ones, there is also a play area directly in front of the barn.

The property has a beautiful location set within a large estate on the cusp of the Yorkshire Dales. With the coast to the east and the City of York to the south, it's an ideal base from which to strike out and discover these unique Yorkshire locations. Reeth (15 miles) and the stunning landscapes of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale (23 miles) are also within easy reach, and it’s well-placed for a day trip over the Lakes if you want to explore there too.

The property is set on the edge of a very pretty village. There's a great dining pub just a short walk away and if you're a bit of a foodie there are several more excellent dining pubs in the area as well as an award-winning deli, tea room and farm shop. It's also the perfect location if you enjoy walking. There are lots of beautiful walks from the doorstep and in fact the area is well known as a great starting point for walking - seasoned walkers come from miles around to set off from the village.

This stunning Yorkshire Cottage is just 3 miles away from Richmond, a historic market town with much to offer the discerning holidaymaker. Explore the cobbled market square or head up towards Richmond Castle for a slice of Yorkshire history. Just a short drive through Richmond takes you into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales proper. Head up towards Reeth and on towards Hawes in Wensleydale for a true taste of this magnificent countryside.

North of the cottage is the charming town of Barnard Castle (12 miles). Recently listed as one of the top 10 places to live in the UK, it's a pretty little place with a host of shops, cafes and pubs to explore. The excellent Bowes Museum is here and is well worth a visit. And as the name would suggest there's a historic castle to explore too.

Further south, you'll find the pretty market town of Northallerton (18 miles) where handsome Georgian houses line the long main street. The wonderful Betty's Tearooms is here as is a fantastic local deli, Lewis & Cooper's Food Emporium and of course the quintessentially Yorkshire department store of Barkers.
