Get ready to fall in love with this exquisite luxury Grade II listed double-fronted townhouse set in the heart of the historic Georgian market town of Richmond. From its stunning interiors to its fabulous hot tub in the garden, this is the perfect holiday home for those who enjoy a mix of town and country.

Dating back to the mid-1700's, this charming period house has been given a super-stylish makeover. The owners of the property are locally renowned interior designers, something which is apparent from the moment you walk through the door. Step inside the entrance hall and make your way into the living room. This gorgeous room boasts two comfy sofas to curl up on and a cosy wood burner at its heart. Statement wallpaper and perfectly placed accessories give the room bags of style and character. For your evening entertainment, there's a Smart TV, a DVD player and a SONAS music system. Wi-Fi is also included.

On the opposite side of the house, you'll find the beautiful kitchen/dining room. Black slate underfoot gives the room a classic, luxurious feel. The shaker-style kitchen is decorated in soft grey tones and comes complete with a sleek granite worktop. There's also a Belfast sink, Nespresso Coffee machine and NEFF appliances throughout including an induction hob, dishwasher and full-size fridge-freezer. Everything is of the very best quality. Rustle up something delicious and settle down to eat at the fine-looking square dining table with its solid wood surface and Queen Ann legs. The floral velvet chairs provide a dash of glamour and romance. The kitchen leads to the courtyard garden at the rear. There is also a handy cloakroom downstairs which includes a WC and washer/dryer.

Both bedrooms are upstairs. The first bedroom is a generous size and boasts a super king-size bed (which can also be configured as two singles if requested). Rest a while on the window seat and take in the view to the cobbled street outside. The house bathroom sits next door, another immaculate room with a striking original Victorian slipper bath. The second bedroom is equally spacious and offers another super king-size bed, which can again be set up as a twin if requested. This lovely room includes an en-suite shower cubicle too.

Step outside to discover why the house lives up to its name. You will discover a secret and completely private walled courtyard garden with a bubbling hot tub ready to invite you in. Enjoy a dip in the evening when the fairy lights cast a magical glow over the garden. Patio furniture is also provided if you fancy lunch alfresco in this sheltered sun trap. And when the mood takes you, have a wander around the handsome market town of Richmond, under half a mile away.

The property is set in the heart of Richmond, a charming Georgian market town on the borders of Wensleydale and Swaledale. The cottage is set at the start of Temple Terrace which leads all the way down to the River Swale and Richmond Castle.

Richmond boasts an 11th-century castle, fine Georgian architecture, a historic Georgian Theatre and a large cobbled market square. Mosey into town for a cup of Yorkshire tea at one of the many tea rooms or pop over for dinner at one of the excellent restaurants.

Richmond is also known as 'The Gateway to the Dales' so you can expect stunning Dales scenery within minutes of leaving the town. Peppering this glorious countryside are countless attractive little towns and villages. And if you enjoy a bit of surreal entertainment, how about quite brilliant Forbidden Corner near Middleham, 15 miles away.

The historic hamlet of Easby, home to Easby Abbey, is just a mile or so from the cottage and is easily walkable along the river. Set on the banks of the River Swale, the abbey is the perfect spot for a picnic in the summer months. There are lots of other breath-taking historical sites to explore in the Dales, including the stunning Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, a world heritage site, under 30 miles away.

This is a superb area for walkers and cyclists with many routes from the doorstep or just a short distance away. The famous coast to coast walking route passes close by. Follow in the cycle tracks of the Tour de France stars who cycled here in the summer of 2014.

The cottage is beautiful and in a great location. The welcome gifts were a nice touch! The free parking spaces were hardly ever available and because of the 2 hour limitation on the disc parking we had to use the pay and display car parks a couple of times.
