Set in beautiful Nidderdale, this outstanding lodge is a perfect holiday home for a family looking for a secluded spot in lovely countryside which is also close to the thriving spa town of Harrogate.

Welcome to this outstanding luxury lodge set in beautiful Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This fabulous property offers the best of both worlds; breathtaking Yorkshire Dales scenery on your doorstep and the cosmopolitan Spa town of Harrogate just ten miles away. The hot tub, stylish interiors and generous living space really provide the wow factor, perfect for families or groups of friends looking for something extra special.

This brand-new contemporary lodge is tucked away on a secluded hillside in the southern Yorkshire Dales. Completed to an extremely high standard by its owners it offers the comfort of a luxury self-catering holiday, with all the cosiness and warmth of a log cabin escape.

Downstairs you'll find a spacious open-plan living area home to the kitchen, dining area and lounge. A wood burner keeps everything nice and toasty, while floor to ceiling windows offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. The lounge features two comfy sofas to curl up on and entertainment is provided by the large TV complete with Netflix & Freeview. High-speed Wi-Fi is also available.

The kitchen sits to the rear of this area. Its elegant grey units are well stocked with all the equipment you'll need to rustle up and serve a family dinner. The usual mod cons are provided including a dishwasher, gas hob, oven/microwave and fridge with a full-size freezer. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also available in the utility on the landing, handy if you have muddy walking clothes to wash and dry off. The dining table sits by the wood burner, a delight on colder mornings when you can enjoy a long lazy breakfast by the fire. The table seats 6 people comfortably, so there's plenty of room for the whole family.

There are three bedrooms in the lodge, two of which are on the ground floor. In the first bedroom, you'll find a lovely wooden king-size bed and double aspect windows letting in lots of light. Next door is the second good-sized bedroom. With two single beds, it's perfect for little ones or those who prefer their own space at night. Both bedrooms share a ground floor shower room with a large walk-in monsoon shower.

Make your way up the bespoke wooden staircase to find the stunning master bedroom. There's lots to love about this room including its super king-size bed, generous proportions and private south-facing decked area with a glass balcony. Snuggle up on the chair here at dusk and see if you can spot any of the local wildlife. The master bathroom is set just across the landing and could have come out of the pages of an interior magazine, boasting a huge free-standing bath and separate walk-in monsoon shower.

There's much to enjoy outside too. Doors from the open-plan living space lead directly out onto the south-facing wooden deck at the front of the lodge. With elegant rattan garden furniture, it's the perfect spot for a sundowner, with blankets provided to keep you snug as the sun sets. And of course, the bubbling hot tub is also here ready and waiting for you. Sink in and enjoy the amazing views!

Beyond the deck explore the five acres of grounds. Children will delight in discovering the stream and packhorse bridge. There are also sheep and cows roaming freely which graze in the adjoining fields.

Set in private grounds down a quiet country lane, this property enjoys a stunning elevated position overlooking the Washburn Valley in Nidderdale (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). There are miles of moorland and woodland walks right from the doorstep taking in some spectacular local scenery. This area is particularly well known for its reservoirs and you can see several from the headlands surrounding the lodge.

The area is heaven for walkers who can explore the dales without having to jump in the car. It's equally good for cycling enthusiasts, with Stainburn Forest Mountain Bike Trail Centre just up the hill and miles of challenging road and off-road routes nearby.

If you like to keep one foot on urban ground, head a few miles down into Ilkley (8 miles) for the day. Highly regarded for its stylish architecture and beautiful floral displays, there's plenty to see and do in this elegant Victorian town. Take a turn around the gardens down by the river, indulge in afternoon tea at Betty's, explore the many independent shops and boutiques, making sure you pick up something yummy for tea from one of the several upmarket delis in town. For those nights when cooking seems like too much effort, book dinner in a local restaurant. Nearby Otley (4 miles) is also a charming Yorkshire town and Chevin Forest Park (5 miles) is a great place to blow off some steam.

Venture across to nearby Pateley Bridge (12 miles), a charming little market town very typical of this area of Yorkshire. The main street is peppered with cafes, restaurants, local stores, quality butchers and a fantastic wine shop, everything you need to stock up for your stay. You'll also find the self-proclaimed 'Oldest Sweet Shop in England' here dating back to the early 1800s - little has changed inside since then.

The property is also just ten miles from the cosmopolitan Spa town of Harrogate, a must during any visit to this area. Encircled by its famous 'Stray' or '1,000 acres' of horseshoe-shaped grassland, Harrogate has a bright and breezy open-air feel and is characterised by its impressive floral displays. As you would expect of such a bustling upbeat town, Harrogate boasts over 300 bars and restaurants together with all the shops, swimming pools, cinemas, parks and gardens you could ever wish for. Don't leave without indulging in a Fat Rascal and cup of Yorkshire Tea at Betty's!

If you want to explore Yorkshire's cities, Leeds is 18 miles away and is packed with designer shops, cafes and top-notch restaurants. The historic walled city of York is slightly further at 30 miles, boasting exquisite architecture and cobbled streets. Other nearby attractions include Harewood House, Bolton Abbey and the RHS Gardens at Harlow Carr. There is just so much to see and do here!

5 star location with the accommodation fitted out to a very high standard. Loved our stay here and will definitely be back. Plenty of wildlife to be seen from the decking with numerous birds, sheep and even he odd deer passing close by. The nesting swallows in the eves above the upper decking were great to watch.
