Take a look at this stunning three-bedroom Georgian house set in the heart of the Dales hamlet of Coverdale. This beautiful property has been transformed into a stylish and comfortable family holiday home with generous accommodation and fabulous views of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village pub, serving good food and drink, is an easy walk away, too.
Dating back to the mid-18th century, this cottage is a double-fronted period property. From the moment you catch a glimpse of the handsome exterior, with its centuries-old Espalier tree, you know you're in for a special stay. The perfect mix of contemporary and traditional, restored period features sit comfortably alongside modern luxuries like underfloor heating in every bathroom.
Step inside to discover an elegant entrance hall leading to a sweeping staircase overlooked by a huge arched window. Take a right and discover the large sitting room with a cosy wood burner at its heart. There is plenty of room for the whole family to snuggle up with a choice of comfy seating. Get the fire roaring and settle down to a family film on the large SMART TV.
The cottage also boasts a snug, perfect for giving the kids (and the grown-ups) their own space. This cosy little room is home to an additional TV and a good selection of board games to keep everyone entertained.
On the opposite side of the hallway, you'll find the kitchen/dining room, also with a lovely front aspect. This beautiful kitchen has traditional farmhouse charm with its original flagstone floors, butcher's block kitchen island, chunky wooden worktops and Belfast sink; it’s just the spot to gather round for a late-night chat. It comes complete with all mod cons including a range cooker and induction hob, a dishwasher, a fridge and the usual smaller appliances. A separate utility/boot room to the rear contains an additional fridge with freezer as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Come together for dinner on the farmhouse table by the window, so you can make the most of the stunning views. Indulge in a long, lazy breakfast over the morning papers and plan the day’s activities.
The ground floor is also home to a handy downstairs cloakroom beside the boot room.
All of the bedrooms are on the first floor. Make your way up the grand staircase taking in the views of the walled garden from the arched window on the way. The master bedroom is set at the front of the house and boasts a super king-sized bed to stretch out on, as well as an en-suite shower and WC. The generous second bedroom also enjoys a front aspect and features a king-size bed and a further en-suite shower room. The third bedroom is set to the rear of the house and is a gorgeous Super king room or if requested twin room with two full-size single beds.
Next door you'll find the family bathroom with its free-standing bath which you can make the most of with a long hot soak after a day walking in the Dales. There is also a large walk-in shower with a monsoon shower head.
There is much to love outside this wonderful property, too. To the front of the house is a charming little garden set behind wrought iron railings. The bench here is the perfect spot for your morning coffee. To the rear of the house is a lovely walled garden complete with a terrace for dining. It's a delightful spot for lunch alfresco and, with a lawned area perfect for picnics, you could happily while away an entire afternoon out here.
Please note, this property accepts babes-in-arms and children over 5. Younger children must be supervised at all times, including outside where there is a drop from the lawn onto the patio.
