Welcome to this gorgeous little converted barn with a stunning moorland setting near Robin Hood’s Bay. Get ready to fall head over heels in love with this cute-as-a-button cottage with moorland walks down to the sea from the doorstep. Perfect for couples looking for a cosy rural escape close to the coast.
This former farm granary has been transformed into a quirky, stylish and surprisingly spacious holiday home. The owners have had fun with colours and design giving it a playful, bright feel.
At the heart of the home is the lovely double height sitting room with its exposed beams and large windows allowing light to flood through. A cosy wood-burning stove keeps everything nice and toasty whatever the weather outside. This is a room to kick off your shoes and snuggle down in. Light the fire, curl up on the sofa and enjoy a good old catch up over a glass of wine or two. For your evening entertainment, there's a Freeview TV with DVD Player, wireless speakers and Wi-Fi is also provided. Books and board games are also available if you want to unplug for a while.
Next door you'll find the charming kitchen with its lovely mix of old and new. We love the handmade terracotta brick floor tiles, hand-painted kitchen units and the solid oak worktops. There's also a retro style fridge/freezer, electric oven / gas hob, dishwasher and other usual small appliances. The breakfast bar is the perfect spot for your morning coffee, or pre-dinner glass of fizz.
Dinner is served in the sitting room at the vintage dining table. Pick up some freshly caught fish from one of the local fishmongers and rustle up a romantic meal for two. With the fire roaring in the background, it doesn't get much cosier than this.
All the accommodation in this cottage is all on one level, so the bedroom is on the ground floor; another delightful room full of character and charm with its exposed brick walls, reclaimed pine floorboards and elegant colour scheme. Double aspect windows let in lots of natural light, including a floor to ceiling window overlooking the courtyard.
Take a moment on the gorgeous blue velvet chair and enjoy the peace and quiet. The shower room continues the theme of eclectic luxury with its bright green walls, grey tiles, and large walk-in monsoon shower. A slate shower tray and vintage style sink / towel rail add elegance and grandeur. Outside there is a sweet little courtyard with a bistro table and chairs set so you can make the most of the warmer months. Settle down for lunch alfresco and drink in those stunning views of the moors as they tumble down towards the sea. Please note Granary Cottage and Swallow Cottage share the gravelled courtyard to the front and have separate enclosed garden / seating areas. The cottages can be booked together if required, please enquire about discounts if booking both cottages. There are 2 allocated parking spaces available for Granary.
