The property is situated on a farm with horses in a beautiful, harmonious rural location, perfect for walkers and cyclists.

This exceptional cottage in the heart of rural North Yorkshire offers couples the opportunity to enjoy a romantic getaway away from the hectic pace of everyday life. Situated on a working farm, you are away from bustling towns and city, with nothing but the sounds of nature to disturb you. However, should you want to venture out for a meal, there is a pub in nearby Great Broughton (1.5 miles). The attractive market town Stokesley (3.5 miles) also has plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as a range of independent shops, plenty of historic sights, a regular country market and views of the surrounding countryside. This property’s location makes it ideally situated for guests wanting to explore the beauty of the heather-clad North York Moors National Park and/or the breathtaking, dramatic coastline. The Cleveland Way, a 109-mile trail that takes in both, passes within a few miles of the house and is one of many walking routes in the area. After a busy day walking, cycling or sightseeing, you can return to the luxury of this amazing cottage and retire to the hot tub with a glass of bubbly for a spot of stargazing.

As you approach the property and drive through the electric gates, you will appreciate the rural setting with stunning views of the surrounding countryside in all directions. On entering the cottage, you will continue to be impressed as it is finished to an exceptionally high standard with stylish, contemporary furniture and a cool palette with warm wood highlights, which all help to create the feel of a boutique hotel. Another thing that this property has is space – both inside and out. The large kitchen is well-equipped, so you can cook up a romantic meal for two, and it even has its own bar area. The curved island in the centre is the perfect place to prepare food, eat breakfast or plan your next adventure. The adjacent lounge is also large and has bi-folding doors that open right up to allow the outside and the inside to merge on sunny days. From the sofa, you can look out on to the paddock to Roseberry Topping hill. There is also a small dining area in the lounge for a more formal alternative to the breakfast bar in the kitchen. Completing the accommodation is the gorgeous super king-size bedroom and very spacious en-suite shower room.

Outside is the enclosed garen, the patio area is an ideal setting for al fresco dining and tucked in the corner is the private hot tub, which adds yet another touch of luxury to the cottage.

(Please note: At times, the farm holds a retreat and yoga sessions. Also, the owner offers natural horsemanship clinics – if this is something you’re interested in and want to bring your own horse, please enquire prior to booking.)

  • 1 Bedroom – super-king-size

The attractive village of Great Ayton (5 miles) has a wonderful vibe. With a selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes and tearooms, you could eat out every night if you wanted to. As home to a young Captain Cook, there is also the Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum which allows you to explore his early life in the surrounding area. If you love to walk, from Great Ayton you can walk up to Roseberry Topping (6.5 miles from the property); a prominent hill with lots of walking trails that lead up to the distinctive summit and cliffs. Great Ayton’s position at the northern end of the North York Moors means the coast is easily accessible from here. To breathe in the fresh, sea air, head to Victorian seaside town Saltburn-by-the-Sea (17.5 miles) with its pier, cliff tramway, golden sand and clean surf.

The vibrant little village of Osmotherley (15 miles) is well-known as a starting point for walkers and cyclists. This gorgeous little place is real picture-postcard stuff. It also offers excellent facilities including a cafe, village stores and a fish and chip shop. If you're a bit of a foodie, this part of Yorkshire is packed with fantastic gastropubs, restaurants and delis. Situated within the western reaches of the North York Moors, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, Osmotherley has close proximity to lush pastures and woodlands. The western Moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns and the views from here are simply stunning, with walks and cycle routes in every direction. You are very close to the famous Cleveland Way as well as many more well-known and picturesque moorland walks, some of which lead all the way to the sea.

The beautiful market town of Helmsley (18.5 miles) is within easy driving distance and is well worth a visit. If you fancy a little pampering, you'll find the Verbena Spa here; perfect for a little me-time indulgence.

Absolutely stunning property, not often you get a 1 bed property that has so much floor space. Garden is massive as well, great for our dogs. Although one of our dogs got through the fence at the back while chasing a chicken. Great field next door for walking dogs as well. Loved seeing appolo every day as well.

Loved this place. Well equipped and very comfortable. Fab location and will be back hopefully for a week next time. Couldnt fault it. My dog (mini schnauzer) did manage to escape from the garden. It is enclosed but small dogs could potentially get through the fence - not a criticism just be aware.

Beautiful accommodation and location. We travelled with a 3yo Labrador and loved that the road was quiet enough that we could walk along it and access footpaths and bridle ways safely. Owners of reactive dogs should know that there was regular use of a horse mnage that backed onto the garden and horse, sheep and chicken activity around the garden, Read morewhich has a low wall on one side, easily jumped.
