Situated on the southern edge, it is often referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park', so as you'd expect, there's a wealth of walking trails and paths on your doorstep for walkers and cyclists alike. There are also lots of other outdoor activities on offer nearby such as climbing, caving and canoeing. The Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty lies to the east, which has yet more stunning moorland, lush green hills, and quaint villages to explore.
