Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to Wensleydale, Bainbridge and Hawes, there's plenty to explore nearby. Or simply relax at the property, with its two wood burners and countryside views.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Askrigg in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this property offers luxurious, contemporary living in a tranquil, rural setting. Families and groups of friends will love spending quality time together in this house and using it as a base for exploring the stunning countryside. With walking and cycling routes on your doorstep, it's possible to explore without even getting in the car. Askrigg itself has a number of tearooms and pubs, so if you don't feel like cooking after a busy day of adventure, you don't have to. Further afield, the area has plenty of natural beauty and wildlife on offer as well as market towns and historic buildings, so there's something for everyone.

Beautifully refurbished, this property perfectly combines contemporary design with traditional touches to create a sense of luxury and grandeur throughout. Statement furniture, rich colours and sumptuous soft furnishings add depth and comfort, making this an ideal house to relax in.

As you step off the street and into the spacious hallway, discard your boots and coats before heading into the magnificent open-plan kitchen/diner. This is a sociable space where everyone can spend time together whether they're cooking, eating, playing games or chatting. The fireplace, wood burner and stone floor hark back to the property's heritage, whilst the modern fixtures and fittings bring it into the 21st century. The kitchen is well-equipped and the island offers plenty of space for cooking. The sliding doors in the dining area add light and allow fresh air to flood in on a warm, summer's day. There is also a handy utility room. Of an evening, you can retire to the separate lounge where you can sink into the comfy sofas in front of the wood burner.

Upstairs, there are three immaculate bedrooms: the master king-size room, with an en-suite shower room, a double room and a twin room. All the bedrooms are beautifully presented with ample storage and attention to detail. Completing the accommodation is a wonderful family bathroom with a separate shower and bath.

Through the sliding doors in the kitchen, you can access the south-facing courtyard garden. There are a built-in charcoal BBQ, dining furniture and alternative seating, making it a perfect place for al fresco dining and stargazing. There is a lockable outbuilding with a bike rack and roadside parking, subject to availability, or there is a free car park just around the corner from the property.

Aysgarth (4.5 miles) is in Wensleydale, within the breathtaking Yorkshire Dales National Park and home to the Aysgarth Falls, which were featured in the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves! The village boasts many great options to eat within less than a mile of the property, including popular pubs and cute cafes. If you visit in spring, you can''t leave without a visit to Freeholders'' Wood where bluebells, anemones and primroses will be in full bloom.

As hard as it will be to tear yourself away from the picturesque village, there''s plenty more to see and do in the local area. Within a 10-mile radius of the property are the charming settlements of Hawes, West Burton. Hawes is a popular market town less than 10 miles from Aysgarth and is most famous as being the home of Wensleydale cheese! It also boasts lovely shops, pubs and tearooms. Walkers will also love the town as the Pennine Way passes through it, making it the perfect starting point for exploring the countryside.

The stunning landscape of Wensleydale itself includes 25 miles of lush valleys, criss-crossed with the area''s iconic dry-stone walls. If you enjoy walking and countryside views, you will not be short of things to do, with Wensleydale providing delightful moorland, dale-side and valley walks. Wensleydale is also sandwiched between Wharfedale and Swaledale, if you fancy exploring further afield.

History lovers will be fascinated by visits to Bolton Castle, Middleham Castle and Jervaulx Abbey, which are 7, 14 and 17 miles from the property, respectively. Bolton Castle dates back to the 14th century and once held Mary, Queen of Scots prisoner, while Middleham Castle was the childhood home of Richard III. Jervaulx Abbey is the country''s largest privately-owned Cistercian Abbey and offers peace and tranquillity to its visitors.

Just 8 miles north lies the charming village of Low Row, which offers incredible views of the surrounding landscape of the Dales; just beyond the village is the stunning countryside of Swaledale. The scenery all around is real picture-postcard stuff, with ancient old dry-stone barns peppering the dramatic hills and valleys. May sees the annual Swaledale Festival, two weeks of amazing music, art, walking and culture and the delightful Muker show in September is another calendar highlight.

This area of the Dales is also particularly renowned for its spectacular wild flower meadows in the spring. People come from all over the world to see the fields come alive with every colour under the rainbow, a unique phenomenon due to the fact that the local farmers don't use chemicals on the fields.

It's a true walker's paradise here and there are some beautiful trails from your doorstep. The circular walk around Blades is lovely and the famous Coast to Coast Walk passes nearby. Of course, this is also supreme cycling country with routes from the village such as the mighty Buttertubs Pass.

Amazing cottage to stay at, lovely courtyard garden with views across the Dales, the owners have renovated the property to an incredibly high standard. And the most amazing hamper awaiting us, with staples as well as luxury treats. The village is lovely too, a great coffee shop / cafe and 3 pubs to choose from. Exceptional!
