Set in beautiful Nidderdale, this outstanding lodge is a perfect holiday home for a family looking for a secluded spot in lovely countryside, which is also close to the thriving spa town of Harrogate.

Situated at the southern end of Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this idyllic lodge is the perfect property for friends and families who love the great outdoors. This rural retreat allows you to immerse yourselves in the tranquillity and soak up the far-reaching views, whilst still being close to the spa town of Harrogate. Further afield, the Yorkshire Dales National Park offers yet more natural wonders, quaint towns/villages and impressive historical sites for you to discover. Whether you’re exploring on foot or by bike, there are routes and trails for everyone, whatever your ability. The area is also teeming with flora and fauna, so be sure to pack your binoculars and camera.

Nestled in a secluded position in the Nidderdale hills, this lodge (built in 2020) combines luxury with comfort. On the ground floor, a spacious open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner allows you all to spend quality time together. Whilst the wood burner adds a sense of cosiness, the floor to ceiling windows allow you to appreciate the panoramic views. The well-equipped kitchen has all the mod-cons you’ll need to cook up some treats before settling down for a sociable meal at the dining table in front of the wood burner.

Two of the bedrooms are also on the ground floor. Firstly, there is a king-size room where light floods in through the two windows. Secondly, there is a lovely twin room. Both bedrooms share the shower room with walk-in shower and WC.

Up the bespoke wooden staircase, there is an impressive master super king-size bedroom. It has its own private balcony, which is a lovely spot to read a book, enjoy the views or watch for wildlife. Across the landing, the delightful bathroom has a luxurious free-standing bath and a separate walk-in shower.

Leading out from the open-plan living area is an impressive terrace with unbridled views of the surrounding countryside- the ideal place for morning coffee or evening drinks. There is also a hot tub to sink into as the sun goes down and blankets to snuggle up in to keep warm. Beyond the terrace, guests are welcome to explore the grounds, where sheep and cows graze freely and there is a stream for paddling in and a pack horse bridge. Guests are advised to supervise children at all times due to the pond. There is off-road parking for up to three cars. For larger groups, please enquire about the availability of another identical lodge nearby.

10 miles away is the grand Victorian spa town of Harrogate, which is regularly listed as the best place to live in the UK. The truly gorgeous Yorkshire town combines traditional elegance with contemporary style effortlessly. And the Duchy suburb is well known as being one of the most desirable postcodes in town

Best known for its antiques and fine art, Harrogate has antique dealers and galleries around every corner, particularly around the Montpellier Quarter. If buying old paintings and furniture isn't your bag there are a host of other reasons to part with your cash in Harrogate. High fashion outlets nestle alongside lavish interior boutiques, punctuated with enough fine restaurants and cafes to keep you fuelled for weeks.

A visit to Betty's Tearooms is a must and if you have time, we highly recommend a session at the famous Turkish Baths. Rejuvenate spirit and soul after a day on the town. If you're travelling with children, Harrogate is famous for its outdoor space with lots of parkland and greenery everywhere. The RHS Gardens at Harlow Carr are also a fantastic option for families.

Harrogate is also very close to the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors so makes the perfect base from which to explore the glorious Yorkshire landscape and its many stunning natural sights. We highly recommend a day trip to gorgeous Ilkley (10.5 miles) combined with a visit to Bolton Abbey, 14 miles away.

Time a visit with the Great Yorkshire Show – it is a massive platform for farmers and local craft-makers to showcase their way of life and their produce on a grand-scale. Harrogate is best known for its convention centres and it’s an events hub too, so it’s worth seeing what is on their programme.

Also worth a visit is Pateley Bridge, which sits at the heart of the breathtaking Nidderdale landscape (12.5 miles). It’s a charming little market town very typical of this area of Yorkshire. The main street is peppered with cafes, restaurants, local stores, quality butchers and a wine shop, everything you need to stock up for your stay. You'll also find the self-proclaimed 'Oldest Sweet Shop in England' here dating back to the early 1800s.

There are plenty of local attractions and stunning natural sights within easy driving distance of the property, including the fabulous and unique Brimham Rocks (10 miles) and the famous Three Peaks. Or check out the cathedral town of Ripon which is also well worth a visit and is 19 miles away, with its regal castle overlooking the town below. The RHS garden at Harlow Carr (7.5 miles) is a great place to visit for those that love flowers, plants and beautiful surroundings.

York is a little further away at 31 miles but would make for a great daytrip as this beautiful medieval city has a lot to offer.
