Explore the North York Moors and all the spectacular surrounding countryside, perfect for a small family or friends looking for an active or relaxing getaway in this Grade II listed property.

This stunning cottage is set in an idyllic location in the picturesque village of Old Malton. Situated on the main high street through the village, you’re still able to enjoy the peace and quiet of a countryside location but you’re just 325 metres from the local pub and half a mile from a shop for your essentials. With plenty of space for up to four guests, this property is brimming with character and has the perfect blend of the traditional and the contemporary to make your stay truly unforgettable.

Step through the door and you’ll instantly feel the welcome of this warm and cosy cottage, with calming tones dotted throughout. Head through to the lounge where painted wooden beams and charming quirky furniture beckon you to snuggle up in front of the wood burner and watch your favourites on the Smart TV after a long day out walking. In the morning, take a seat by the window and watch the world go by as the room floods with light.

Step up into the spacious and bright kitchen, where white beams and stylish tiles and countertops will delight the chef of the group. Cook up a storm with ingredients from the nearby supermarket (1 mile) or maybe nibble on something from the welcome pack as you all sit around the quaint dining table for a sociable meal. Wash muddy clothes in the washing machine in the useful utility area. There is a dishwasher, but you might be tempted to wash up at the sink since the window gives you pretty views of the garden!

Head through the boot room to the garden, where the patio is the perfect spot for dining alfresco on those warm sunny evenings. If you need some time to yourself, escape to the wooden summer house and curl up with your favourite book. There are so many spots to hide away in, including in an old wood store and a pretty table under established trees. Stroll down the garden path to discover all the shrubs, herbaceous plants and flowers as well as fruit. Take care around the wildlife pond which is a little spot of tranquillity. There’s also a handy external WC in the garden.

Back inside and upstairs, two inviting bedrooms await you; soothing white and grey tones in the main super-king-size bedroom make it a pleasure to have a lie-in after a long day of activities the day before. A large window and heavy curtains mean that you can wake up in the morning with lots of natural light but don’t need to worry about that light disturbing your snooze. Soothing pastel colours in the twin bedroom make it the ideal hideaway for children or friends; lamps and wall lights give the room soft, gentle lighting that will lull you to sleep. Wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day and pop into the shower room for an invigorating shower among statement tiles and lovely coastal touches.

Very comfortable well equipped cottage. The garden was fascinating and as we had good weather we took full advantage of it. Great dog walks just a cross the road and easy access to local attractions. The only negative was the road noise as the cottage is on a busy main road, but this did not spoil our stay..

Cottage is excellent. Our spaniel managed to get into neighbors garden by getting through behind the summer house but she really is a dedicated escape artist!! The neighbour was fine about it!
