Situated on the northern edge of the North York Moors National Park, this contemporary, cosy cottage is the perfect bolthole for a romantic retreat. Situated in the bustling village of Great Ayton, you have the convenience of its shops, pubs and eateries on your doorstep, but within a couple of miles, you can be out in the open countryside enjoying the fresh air and wide-open space. If you’re keen walkers or cyclists, there are plenty of routes/trails to choose from, which allow you to explore Yorkshire’s natural beauty. This property is also well-situated to allow you to explore the rugged Yorkshire coast, where you can wander along the coast path soaking up the far-reaching sea views, or stroll around the historic fishing villages and coastal towns. For something a little more cosmopolitan, you could head 10 miles north to the large town of Middlesbrough.
Nestled amongst a terrace overlooking the River Leven, this attractive cottage offers couples stylish and spacious accommodation. Exposed brick walls and warm woods contrast beautifully with the cool tones throughout to create a unique and welcoming home. The traditional layout and natural materials reflect the building’s history, whilst modern fixtures and fittings bring it into the 21st century.
On entering, you’ll find yourself in the open-plan lounge/diner. Simple decor and a comfortable sofa and chair make this an ideal spot for snuggling up and relaxing of an evening, whilst the dining table and benches provide ample seating for dining, planning adventures or playing board games. To the rear of the property is the galley-style kitchen. Stunning wooden worktops and a Belfast sink bring a sense of tradition to this modern kitchen, which is equipped with all the mod-cons. From the dining area, head up the staircase to the cosy double bedroom, where the exposed brick wall creates a sense of cohesion with downstairs, as does the understated, but tasteful, decor. A lovely big window allows light to flood in and the dressing room with large wardrobes provides additional space for your belongings. Completing the accommodation is a bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Heading outside, there is a small courtyard with seating for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. There is off-road parking at a nearby free car park (subject to availability).
This is the sister property to 'The Old Police House' which is just round the corner!
