Take a walk from your doorstep over the hills and you’ll find 700 years of history at Ripley Castle (4 miles) where you can book a tour and look out for wildlife in the gardens and parkland; the castle also hosts weddings should you wish to ask any questions while you’re there. Or, just 2 miles west, you’ll find the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the Yorkshire Dales National Park where you can visit Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden (3 miles).
