Enjoy a slice of coastal life at this modern house accommodating up to eight guests situated within Whitby and surrounded by The North York Moors National Park. This property is ideal for families and small groups of friends.

Indulge in a traditional, Yorkshire, seaside holiday with a stay at this comfortable holiday home in Whitby. Sleeping up to eight guests, and also welcoming two canine companions, this inviting, four-bedroom property is approximately 1 mile from the centre of the famous seaside town. Walk just over 1 mile to also reach the beach at West Cliff, where you can swim, surf and picnic on the sand. Head to Tate Hill, about the same distance away, on the east side of the River Esk estuary, where your four-legged friends are welcome all year round. Discover the town’s history and literary connections during your visit: Whitby is known for its role in Bram Stoker’s chilling Victorian gothic novel, Dracula, as well as for its smuggling past, and there are plenty of sights and activities to help you immerse yourselves in these colourful fictional and non-fictional tales.

Accommodating a group of friends, an extended family or two families together, this property could also be ideal for all those eager to explore the beautiful North York Moors. Find fabulous walks through ancient woodlands, across magnificent moors and beside winding rivers within the national park. Go rock climbing, paddle boarding and horse riding while you are here too.

Open the front door to the modern holiday home and leave your shoes, jackets and dog leads in the hall. Wander on through into the kitchen/diner, which opens conveniently into the lounge, bringing a sense of flow to the house. Make a cup of tea for your group and then decide who is cooking dinner tonight. You’ll have everything you need in the kitchen to be able to prepare tasty meals, plus a useful dishwasher and a washing machine. Gather round the table to dine together and perhaps play a hand or two of cards into the evening.

Members of your group might also like to spill out into the lounge, where they can choose a film or catch up with their favourite programmes on the Smart TV, which has BT vision and a basic Sky package, plus a sound bar subwoofer to enhance their enjoyment. On summer days, pull open the exterior door and enjoy wandering outside to make the most of the garden. You also have a WC at ground-floor level.

After a fun-filled evening, make your way up to the first floor where all four comfortable bedrooms are situated. These rooms all embody a fresh, seaside appeal, with calming decor featuring gentle hints of a maritime, seaside theme. Choose between a super-king-size room with an en-suite shower room; a king-size room; a double room and a bunk bedroom with an extra pull-out bed. The family bathroom, which features a bath with a shower above, is also on the first floor.

Take breakfast, lunch and dinner outside whenever the weather permits. Watch the children and pets playing on the artificial lawn as the BBQ heats up. You’ll also find off-street parking for two cars in front of the house.

  • 4 bedrooms - 1 super-king-size, 1 king-size, 1 double and a bunk bedroom with a pull out trundle bed

Lose yourself in the cobbled lanes, quirky cafes and artsy boutiques in Whitby (1.5 miles). Treat yourself to some fish and chips, or push out the boat and indulge in a plate of the locally-caught crab and lobster. Explore the town’s connection with Bram Stoker’s Dracula by climbing the 199 steps on the town’s East Cliff. At the top you’ll find the famous Abbey Ruins, which are featured in Stoker’s novel. When the sun goes down, get the gang together for a spot of stargazing, because the North York Moors National Park is a designated International Dark Sky Reserve. In the town or city, you may only spot a handful of stars, but in the national park you can spy up to 2,000 at any one time. Danby (12 miles) is one of the national park’s Dark Sky Discovery Sites – and the Milky Way is often visible from there with the naked eye.

Good base location, 0.9 m from Whitby West Cliff. Great for family holiday get-togethers. Kitchen/diner has all mod cons & is a good size. Comfy super king bed in ensuite & comfy bunk beds. Quick dog walks round the corner in castle grounds or small park opposite castle entrance in side road, both handy before visits out. Close by is Lidls & a largRead moree Spar shop at the Shell garage for supplies. Accessibility: Taller & or less mobile people might find the lounge seating and toilets too low down. Hide

The house was lovely with the furniture and fittings all being top class, we ate in most of the time and there was everything you needed to do a full Sunday lunch. The decor too was lovely . Our son and daughter iRead moren law even ordered the chair and footstool for their dining room at home. The garden was perfect for a dog and 2 year old but looked good too. Hide

A lovely house in a good location on the edge of Whitby with all the home comforts at hand. Many great attractions nearby or a short drive and enough to keep us occupied for a week. Sneaton Castle (next door) is a great place for lunch in very plush decor and beautiful grounds. Whitby itself is a delight to explore with a host of small independent Read moreshops including a few dedicated to Whitby Jet. The beach is huge when the tide is out and never seemed packed. Hide

Lovely family sized house, well situated and safe enclosed garden for children and dogs. Extremely well equipped and decorated. Nice comfy beds and pillows. The owners have put a lot of thought and effort into making sure everything required is available. Would definitely stay again.
