Fascinating heritage, sensational restaurants and a thriving cosmopolitan vibe make Scarborough the ultimate destination for guests of all tastes and interests. When you combine this with all the trimmings of a traditional seaside holiday, you have the perfect staycation. You’ll find this marvellous end-terrace cottage studded amongst Scarborough’s bustling streets just a short walk from the beach, providing a wonderful vantage point for touring the Yorkshire Coast and countryside. Set across three floors, the property sleeps six with ample room for relaxing and socialising in equal measure.

Thoughtfully styled with oodles of home comforts at your disposal, this cosy abode has been furnished with family groups in mind. Cheerful accessories are scattered throughout with pleasant extra details including indoor plants and quirky lighting. Turn on the TV and select a classic film, snuggling up with a bowl of buttery popcorn in the lounge. Rest your weary limbs as you recline against the plush leather of the sofas, uncorking a bottle of wine for good measure once the youngsters are tucked up in bed. Artistic tiling adorns the ornate fireplace, and the bold splashes of colour further add to the sense of breezy beachside living.

This cheerful theme continues into the dining room with an added hint of bohemian chic, creating a welcome sanctuary for all those delicious meals you’ll soon be enjoying around the table. Clever storage reveals baskets of games and a special container for the canine members of your party. The compact yet excellently equipped kitchen is laid out in a galley-style complete with wooden worktops, country cottage units, an electric oven, gas hob, fridge and microwave and a washing machine. Return from the vibrant streets with artisan produce, locally sourced meat and whatever treats you simply couldn’t resist and create a culinary masterpiece fit for special occasions.

Upstairs, each of the three bedrooms is simply presented with gentle accents of colour, bringing forward a separate personality for each room. Choose from a king-size, a double or a twin, planning your sleeping arrangements to suit your group size and make-up. Although flexible in terms of layout, you’ll certainly not be scrimping on style as the crisp bedding is sumptuously soft for a good night’s sleep. Be sure to bring along a selection of sweet-smelling goodies for a well-deserved pampering session in the bathroom, sinking under a mountain of bubbles in the bath or embracing the invigorating walk-in shower.

Tucked towards the back of the property is a delightful, gravelled courtyard with bistro-style garden furniture, a bench and climbing plants. Take your first coffee of the day outside and relax, enjoying the peaceful ambience of the pretty garden before the day’s adventures. In terms of parking, there are various pay and display car parks nearby. Parking is strictly controlled in Scarborough, so be sure to check the restrictions on your permit to clarify timings. A short walk will bring you to the beautiful beach and a vast selection of eateries, so you’ll never be short of dining and entertainment options.

Lovely, spacious property. Bedrooms are beautiful and beds comfortable. The blue sofa was uncomfortable and no padding left in cushions. The main lock on front door needs replacing . The courtyard lets it down as not cleaned. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Sadly the neighbourhood lets this lovely property down.

This house has everything you need our only small criticism is that the fridge is small for 6 people, it has everything you need if you wish to cook with plenty of crockery and cutlery. The house is close to town and easy to walk to everything. Would stay again as it was nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Seagulls Rest was a really lovely place to spend our holiday. The accommodation was plenty big enough for 4 adults and a dog. The house was beautifully presented & spotlessly clean. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bathroom was luxurious! Location wise, the town centre is very close, with the South Bay just beyond, therefore easily accessRead moreible. There are shops & places to eat nearby, and a nice fish and chip shop just over the road. We always found a place to park. Would book again! Hide

A lovely, well-equipped property. We enjoyed the huge bath! It was dog-friendly, and the two canine visitors had an enjoyable time.
