This three-storey townhouse situated in the old Georgian town of Richmond promises an enticing getaway. Perfect for friends and families wanting a sociable setting with plenty on the doorstep.

Enjoy a superb stay at this eye-catching, contemporary, holiday home set within the renowned Yorkshire town of Richmond. Up to eight guests are welcome to stay at the four-bedroom property, which offers spacious, light-filled accommodation across three storeys. Amble out from here to explore the town, with its Georgian architecture and historic trails; go shopping, dine out and enjoy it as a base from which to head out into the many beautiful areas of North Yorkshire.

Visit Bedale, for example, 11 miles from Richmond. Here you can peruse the independent shops, enjoy a slice of Yorkshire parkin and a cup of tea and shop for local produce. Head to Barnard Castle too, 15 miles away; this historic town is known for its castle ruins.

Open the front door to this impressive property and find yourselves in a bright, airy and spacious reception hall, with an oak and glass staircase as its centrepiece and plenty of room for your outerwear. Find a utility room, where you can whiz damp and muddy clothing through the machines after your walks and then a super-king-size bedroom, which can also be arranged as twins if discussed in advance, with an en-suite shower room. There is also a games room, with Smart TV and table football, where members of your party can relax or challenge each other to a lively tournament or two.

Climb the stairs to discover more beautiful bedrooms; these include another super-king-size, which can also be arranged as twins in advance and features a Smart TV and glass terrace doors. There are also two king-size rooms, one with a Smart TV and the other with an en-suite shower room and access to the private terrace.

Head up yet another level to find your exceptional lounge, which captures superb views out across the town and enjoys an abundance of daylight via its great expanses of glass. Settle down in front of the Smart TV in here together or simply lose yourselves in the views.

Make your way through to the adjoining kitchen to whip up hearty holiday feasts for your party. Sit at the stylish breakfast bar with a cup of fresh coffee and your magazine, chat to some of your friends and family at the table then call everyone else through to dine with you in these incredible surroundings.

Bask out in the Yorkshire sunshine on the spacious terrace during the warmer months. Dine out here as often as possible and just enjoy relaxing out in the fresh air. You have space to store bicycles, and two off road parking spaces come with this unique holiday home.

  • 4 bedrooms – 2 king-size and 2 super-king-size zip-and-link (can be made as twins on request)

Richmond is a charming market town on the borders of Wensleydale and Swaledale. It boasts an 11th-century castle, fine Georgian architecture, a historic Georgian theatre and a large cobbled market square as some of its many attractions. Stroll into town for a cup of Yorkshire tea at one of the many tearooms there or pop over for dinner at one of the excellent restaurants.

The gorgeous River Swale runs through the town and, across the river – less than 1 mile away – are the River Swale Waterfalls. You can walk in either direction along the river and deep into the countryside without having to go anywhere near the car. We also recommend exploring the restored former Richmond Railway Station which has lots to entertain young and old including a small cinema, cafe/restaurant, gallery, microbrewery and artisan bakery.

Richmond is also known as “The Gateway to the Dales” so expect stunning Dales scenery within minutes of leaving the town. Peppering this glorious countryside are countless attractive little towns and villages and, if you enjoy a bit of surreal entertainment, how about a visit to the quite brilliant Forbidden Corner, an attraction full of statues and hidden surprises, 14 miles away near Middleham.

Walk 2 miles from Richmond to the historic village of Easby, where you can also take in some impressive ruins. Head out of town to explore the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park. See Aysgarth Falls, 15.5 miles away, an enchanting, triple flight of waterfalls, which runs for almost 1 mile and is set in beautiful woodland.

There are lots of other breathtaking historic sites to explore in the Dales, including the stunning Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, 30 miles, a World Heritage Site. This is a superb area for walkers and cyclists with many routes from the doorstep or just a short distance away, including Alfred Wainwright’s famous Coast to Coast Walk which passes close by. And with York, Harrogate and the North York Moors all within easy striking distance, you have lots of choices for day trips!

A wonderful property very close to the centre of Richmond. Everything within the property is immaculate and to a very high standard. Masses of very hot water - very welcome after getting wet walking. Great fun with grandchildren playing table football.
