  • Elegant 17th century Grade II-listed property sleeping ten guests across five bedrooms
  • Beautiful, spacious property set in picturesque Nidderdale
  • Enjoy the enclosed and manicured, south-facing lawn garden
Property code: 83663

Luxuriate in a stay at this splendid former farmhouse, set within the village of Dacre Banks in the heart of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beautiful stone property, which dates back to the 1800s, sleeps eight guests and two dogs, making it a perfect choice for two families keen to escape together or a party of friends or extended family members seeking a spacious and special holiday home.

With five bedrooms and an exquisite garden, there is ample space for everyone to spread out, relax and really enjoy themselves. The superb setting, also within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, makes it an ideal choice for all those who are passionate about the great outdoors.

Open the door onto this gorgeous period home, which is still rich in original features, such as stone floors and beamed ceilings. Head to the central, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner to make a cup of tea on the gas-fired Aga or extra gas hob, then leave dinner roasting while you amble on through to the inviting lounge. Like the rest of the ground floor, this room should be toasty and warm thanks to the underfloor heating but do light the open fire in here too for that additional country home ambience.

Settle down to your favourite programme on the TV/DVD with an Amazon Firestick, read your book for a while or wander through to the dining room, where there is a baby grand piano and now ornamental range, to lay the table for dinner. You’ll find a boot room, utility room and WC are all also downstairs.

Climb the stairs to the next level to lay your head down for the night in either of the beautiful, super-king-size bedrooms; each of these has an en-suite shower room and one can be arranged as twins if discussed at the time of booking. Find another super-king-size room, which can also become twins if arranged, plus two doubles and a family bathroom on the floor above. Children will love to retreat to the low-ceilinged, games room, which is at the attic-floor level and has a Smart TV, PlayStation2 and mini pool table.

Savour the beauty of the luscious garden at this village holiday home. Watch the children and energetic hounds race across the grass. Dine outside at the table in the charming, flagstone courtyard. Light the BBQ on summer evenings and bask in the last of the glorious sunshine. You can store your bikes at this holiday home, which also comes with parking for three cars.

  • 5 bedrooms - 2 super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into twins on request), 1 super-king-size, 2 doubles
  • Accommodation of the bedrooms is spilt between two sections of the house
  • 1 bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC, 2 en-suite shower rooms with WC and 1 separate WC
  • Gas AGA and additional gas hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher and pod coffee machine
  • Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer and extra fridge
  • Welcome pack on arrival
  • Travel cot and highchair available on request
  • Open log fire ( first basket of logs included)
  • TV/DVD with Amazon firestick in the lounge
  • Snug/games room with Smart TV/DVD, PlayStation 2 and children's pool table
  • Enclosed, lawned garden with furniture, rear patio area with furniture and charcoal BBQ
  • Secure cycle storage
  • Off-road parking for 3 cars
  • Shop and pub within 200 metres
  • Please note there are low ceilings and beams in the attic snug/games rooms and many stone steps throughout the property
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 3 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £500 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £50. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

From Dacre Banks, find all sorts of magnificent places to explore on foot or by bike. Head down to Fewston Reservoir, 5 miles away in the picturesque Washburn Valley, where you can explore the nature reservoir and wander through beautiful bluebell woods in spring. Make your way to Thruscross too, where a walk around the scenic lake extends to approximately 4.5 miles. Drive 7.5 miles from the holiday home to experience the striking Coldstones Cut, an impressive sculpture situated about a working mine.

Or, head into Pateley Bridge from Dacre Banks; this is a charming little market town, very typical of this area of Yorkshire. The main street is peppered with cafes, restaurants, local stores, quality butchers and a wine shop: everything you need to stock up for your stay. You’ll also find the self-proclaimed “Oldest Sweet Shop in England” here, dating back to the early 1800s.

Pateley Bridge sits at the heart of the breathtaking Nidderdale landscape, itself an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and immediately adjacent to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

There are plenty of local attractions and stunning natural sights within easy driving distance including the fabulous Brimham Rocks (4.5 miles) and the famous Three Peaks – or check out the cathedral town of Ripon which is also well worth a visit and is just 12 miles away, with its regal castle overlooking the town below. The RHS garden at Harlow Carr (16 miles) is a great place to visit for those that love flowers and plants.

Take a spa day or have a massage at the Turkish Baths in the cosmopolitan town of Harrogate, 14.5 miles away. This grand Victorian spa town is regularly listed as the best place to live in the UK. Today, it combines traditional elegance with contemporary style effortlessly.

Best known for its antiques and fine art, Harrogate has antique dealers and galleries around every corner, particularly around the Montpellier Quarter. High fashion outlets can also be found here, nestling alongside lavish interior boutiques, punctuated with enough fine restaurants and cafes to keep you fuelled for weeks.

A cracking property both inside and out. The property description is accurate. This is a lovely old house, well equipped and well maintained and also well located in one of perhaps the lesser-known Yorkshire dales, but arguably one of the most attractive. We stopped as a group of 10 people (plus a dog and a baby) for New Year and we had a fantastic time. The house is so characterful and very well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the visit to Whitakers gin distillery, and the walk to Pateley Bridge. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and had everything we needed.
