Brand new for 2021, this converted barn is set on the owners' farm with a stylish interior and gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. A perfect base from which to discover North Yorkshire with extended family and friends.

Located on the owners’ private farm amongst a cluster of neighbouring properties including farm buildings and cottages, this exclusive converted barn is beautifully styled with heaps of personality. You are guaranteed peace and quiet amongst the splendid rolling hills and luscious green pastures surrounding the tranquil Yorkshire village of North Dalton. Walking, cycling and gentle ambling are wonderful ways to soak up the glorious countryside, and the village itself is straight out of a storybook with its pretty pond and chocolate-box cottages. It’s an excellent option for families and large groups of up to eight guests.

Cast aside your muddy boots in the bright hallway and venture into the split-level living space with relaxation in mind. Classically furnished and decorated in a sophisticated style, the property blends contemporary convenience and rustic charm to create a homely feel. The cosiest lounge area awaits after a long day of adventures, lulling you into a sense of calm with its velvety soft carpets and deep comfortable sofas. Throw a log on the wood burner and embrace its warmth, settling down to watch the flickering flames dance in the corner.

The next level reveals a breathtakingly sleek contrast with its statement bright walls and large patio doors that allow natural light to stream in through the glass. Tiled flooring underfoot further adds to the overall effect, and the addition of a breakfast bar and a farmhouse table offers great choice when it comes to dining. Integral appliances, including an electric induction hob, double oven and microwave, make cooking up hearty meals a treat, and there’s ample space in the fridge/freezer for storing your spoils. There’s a useful dishwasher too to save on the washing up, and in terms of conveniences there’s a downstairs WC and you’ll be able to take care of any laundry needs in the utility area beyond the kitchen which is equipped with a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

The first of the four bedrooms is downstairs with attractive twin beds and storage, and if you climb the staircase to the first floor you’ll discover three further bedrooms. Crisply dressed and ready for slumber, the two king-size bedrooms are peaceful sanctuaries with their interesting artwork, colourful accessories and a TV apiece, and one of these rooms has the added bonus of an en-suite shower room. The final bedroom features zip-and-link beds that can be made up as a super-king-size on request depending on the size and make-up of your party.

Completing the first floor is a fabulous bathroom with skylights in the sloped ceiling that fill the room with sunlight. Pamper yourself in the freestanding tub with some locally sourced toiletries, appreciating a long soak or perhaps an invigorating shower in the walk-in cubicle.

Set across several levels, the garden is a morning suntrap for sipping your first coffee of the day. Perch at the garden furniture for balmy evening BBQ’s, whipping up a tempting cocktail to celebrate good food and excellent company. Numerous on-site facilities are available too such as a shared tennis court and outdoor pool, which you can use by prior arrangement on a rota system. For a small cost and by prior arrangement, you can even splash out with a stint in the sauna. The walled garden beyond the gate is brimming with seasonal produce that you are welcome to pluck straight from the source, feasting on succulent berries in the summer and delicious vegetables at harvest time.

Centred around a pond, the village of North Dalton is peppered with pretty cottages and traditional buildings steeped in quintessential charm. The village is ideally positioned for exploring the coast and countryside, and you simply must visit Beverley, 11 miles away, for a true taste of Yorkshire. This beautiful market town is one of Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets with its stunning 13th-century Beverley Minster often regarded as one of Europe’s finest Gothic churches. Take a look at the town’s medieval architecture before indulging in a spot of shopping around its lively cobbled squares. Finish off with a drink in one of the traditional Yorkshire pubs where time has stood still for decades.

Beyond the town, get to know the gorgeous Yorkshire Wolds, a range of low rolling hills rising from the River Humber and sweeping along to the stunning cliffs at Flamborough Head. The gentle nature of the countryside here makes it an excellent location for walking and cycling.

Bridlington (19.5 miles) is the perfect spot for some traditional seaside fun. With its beautiful sandy beaches, lively promenades and harbour full of boats coming and going, it’s got an endearing feeling of nostalgia. The arcades, funfair rides and traditional entertainment hark back to the good old days, offering much fun for children and adults alike. Bridlington Old Town is awash with history, with architecture featured in the 2016 Dad’s Army film. Literature lovers will enjoy a trip timed with the annual Dickensian Festival, which celebrates the author and era with events and stallholders and shopkeepers adorned in Victorian attire.

Flamborough Head (8 miles) will appeal to any nature enthusiast with its resident seals and dolphins, whilst the majestic chalk RSPB Bempton Cliffs are home to over 250,000 species of seabirds. The best way to see the local wildlife is to board a boat from Bridlington Harbour and marvel at the unrivalled views of the coastline on a sea safari, and a trip out on the Yorkshire Belle is fantastic for viewing the lighthouse at Flamborough Head.

Further along the coastline, Scarborough, 17 miles away, has gorgeous sandy beaches and a huge choice of cafes and restaurants. Make your way through the historic streets to explore Scarborough Castle or enjoy a stroll around the South Cliff area, taking in the famous spa and Italian Gardens. Catch the cliff lift down to the beach and walk around to the peaceful North Bay, visit the renowned Sea Life Centre or explore the beautiful Peasholm Park with its boating lake, woodland walks and oriental influences.

York, 23 miles away, is well worth the drive and it is easy to see why it is known as the jewel in North Yorkshire's crown. History seeps out of every cobbled street, but the crooked old buildings house a fantastic range of contemporary designer shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Everywhere in York is easily reachable on foot as this small but perfectly formed city houses most of its main attractions within the city walls. Middle Ages' town planning means it can take quite some time to get your bearings but finding your way around the labyrinth streets is part of the fun. Make sure you take in York Minster, The Shambles, the Railway Museum and Bettys tearoom whilst you're there.
