Envisage a holiday dedicated to making new memories with your nearest and dearest, choosing this peaceful seaside retreat that’s within easy reach of Filey’s glorious beaches and traditional seaside amusements. Suited to families with youngsters in tow, it is packed with home comforts to make you feel completely at ease. Spend your days immersed in beach-style life, strolling along the promenade with ice cream and tucking into classic fish and chips at sunset, wriggling your toes in the sand.

Homely and inviting with a charming lived-in appeal, the property is brought to life with a neutral colour palette, wooden flooring and homely furniture. A simple archway connects the lounge with the kitchen/diner, providing a central hub for spending quality time together as a family. Snuggle up on the sofas with some tasty treats and home-baked goodies, switching on the TV to catch up on your most-loved shows and favourite films. Charades, card games and general chatter can also be enjoyed here in comfort once the little ones have been whisked off to bed, then it’s time to open a bottle of wine and really unwind.

The kitchen carries a noticeable elegant feel entwined with the hearty nature of a good old-fashioned farmhouse, just the ticket for those lavish suppers around the table. You’ll have everything you need at your fingertips for cooking and dining in style including a gas hob, electric combination oven, microwave, dishwasher and a fridge and freezer. Your accompanying canine will waste no time in claiming this area as his favourite spot to rest, so be sure to slip him a few morsels as you devour your delicious meal.

Weary and sandy from your excursions, the ground floor plays host to a generous bathroom big enough to serve the entire family. Pour sweet-smelling bubbles into the bath and recline against the suds with a book, or treat yourself to a delightfully hot shower to soothe your tired limbs. Wrapped in a snuggly towel and robe from home, head up the steep stairs in search of the bedrooms to recharge your batteries. There are three bedrooms in total: 2 king-size and a bunk rooms (shorty beds for children).

The real gem of this homely abode is the fully enclosed garden outside that features garden furniture for al fresco meals in the sunshine. It is a wonderful addition following a full day of experiencing the Yorkshire coast and countryside. In terms of practicality, there is off-road parking for one car through the garden gate, and on-street parking subject to availability if needed.

A short walk from your doorstep will bring you to the sandy shores of the nearby beach, so you’ll soon be losing yourself in beach games galore. The youngest members of your party will adore crafting the tallest sandcastles they can muster and testing their detective skills as they peruse the rock pools. When you tire of splashing in the sea, Glen Gardens is nearby too for frolicking across the open landscape with a quick visit to the play area and cafe.

Soak up the atmosphere and admire the spectacular sea views, or lace up your boots and join The Cleveland Way coastal trail from Filey Brigg (1.5 miles). The golden sands will appeal to any humble beach dweller, and numerous rock pools are teeming with marine life and the odd fossil for youngsters to investigate as well as family-friendly amusements set back from the beach.

Heading northwards along the coastline, you’ll discover Scarborough 8.5 miles away with its gorgeous beaches, cafes and restaurants. Make your way through the historic streets to explore Scarborough Castle or pop into St Mary's churchyard to visit Anne Bronte's grave. Enjoy a stroll around the South Cliff area, taking in the famous spa and Italian Gardens. Catch the cliff lift down to the beach and walk around to the peaceful North Bay, visit the renowned Sea Life Centre or explore the beautiful Peasholm Park with its boating lake, woodland walks and oriental influences. The old railway line which ran from Scarborough to Whitby is now a stunning cycle and walking route and is the perfect choice if you feel like a coastal walk taking in some spectacular scenery.

Bridlington (11 miles) boasts glorious sandy beaches, cheerful promenades and a pretty harbour populated by gently bobbing boats. Embrace a feeling of nostalgia and immerse yourself in traditional entertainment, thrilling the youngest members of your party with funfair rides, and trips to the arcades. Bridlington Old Town is awash with history, and eagle-eyed film enthusiasts may recognise the architecture from the 2016 Dad’s Army film. Timing your visit with the annual Dickensian Festival is a must for literature lovers; it is brilliant fun seeing all the stallholders and shopkeepers adorned in Victorian attire.

Flamborough Head (12.5 miles) will appeal to any nature enthusiast with its resident seals and dolphins, whilst the majestic chalk RSPB Bempton Cliffs are home to over 250,000 species of seabirds. The best way to see the local wildlife is to board a boat from Bridlington Harbour and marvel at the unrivalled views of the coastline on a sea safari, and a trip out on the Yorkshire Belle is fantastic for viewing the lighthouse at Flamborough Head.

Nice property in a great location right next to the front and five minutes from the town centre. Only minor niggle was the state of the cookware which was poor quality and in a terrible condition.

Lovely position in the town. The house had everything we needed, was clean and it looked newly redecorated. The parking space at the back is small and awkward to get in and out, so we parked out front, there was always room.
