Nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, this delightful cottage for six guests is also within easy reach of the Lake District, perfect for a family seeking an idyllic retreat. Head off on holiday to the picturesque North Yorkshire hamlet of Masongill, once home to Arthur Conan Doyle. Offering cosy accommodation for six, this pretty cottage is ideal for families and friends who enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. The area has plenty of caves to explore, with a range of walks of varying length through spectacular countryside, and the peak of Ingleborough just 6 miles away. Follow the 5-mile Ingleton Waterfall Trail to see the White Scar and Ingleborough Caves. Visit the thriving Cumbrian market town of Kirkby Lonsdale (5.5 miles) and potter around its charming independent shops or dine out in style. Offering breathtaking walks and outstanding scenery, the south-eastern edge of the Lake District is just 15 miles away.

Step into this light-filled and beautifully decorated cottage, and head through to the pretty second lounge which makes a great space to unwind in. Ideal for children, or for anyone who has to get some work done, this lounge features a desk, stereo and TV/DVD. The main open-plan lounge/diner has a beamed ceiling and parquet floor, with a sociable dining table for you all to gather round and share a hearty meal. The sleek, airy and fully equipped kitchen is perfect for whipping up a wide variety of holiday fare with its range-style oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, coffee machine and dishwasher. The kitchen also has a lovely farmhouse-style table perfect for grabbing a snack or enjoying a spot of breakfast. The ground floor also features the first of the property’s three delightful bedrooms: a lovely double room with enchanting rural views. Exploring the ground floor of this beautiful cottage further, you will find a refreshing shower room which is ideally situated for anyone with limited mobility. The handy utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer as well as an upright freezer, and has ample space for drying wet dogs or storing boots and raincoats. The two remaining bedrooms are both upstairs: a cosy king-size room and a relaxing double. The main family bathroom, with a freestanding bath and a hand held shower, is also on this level.

Going outside, you can spend sunny afternoons out in the west-facing enclosed back garden which offers glorious views towards the Lakeland fells. There’s also a delightful, secluded, south-facing front garden. Please do be aware that the garden is not escape-proof! Enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake as you soak up the tranquillity, absorb the serene views and watch your children playing on the lawn. We loved the house and the location. It was handy having an Asda express nearby in Ingleton and there are lots of things to do in the area. Highly recommend Ingleborough Cave (dogs allowed), Ingleton Waterfall Trail, Janet's Foss, Gordale Scar & Malham Cove. Settle is a lovely town and has lots of shops and pubs and restaurants.
