The historic town of Skipton offers a host of attractions including a castle. There are lots of options for eating out here and plenty of shops, galleries and boutiques for those who love to shop. Other nearby attractions include the Kilnsey Trout Farm, 11 miles away, and horse riding at Coniston, 7 miles from the property.

The magnificent Yorkshire Dales begin less than 1 mile from Skipton. And, as you would expect, the surrounding countryside here is simply magnificent, perfect if you want to strike out from the apartment in your walking boots.

This area is a true walker’s paradise but if you are more of a roamer than a rambler, try a stroll around the grounds of nearby Bolton Abbey, 6.5 miles away. These gorgeous ruins provide the backdrop to a particularly beautiful part of the Dales and are well worth a visit.

Settle, 15 miles from Skipton, is another destination that is not to be missed. This well-loved, market town is home to lots of cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. There’s also a market held in the town every Tuesday – the perfect place to pick up everything from flowers to fresh produce for dinner. If real ale is your tipple, then you will find plenty of pubs serving Yorkshire brews close by.

Just outside the town, you can hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway, one of the most scenic routes in the UK which will take you over the well-known Ribblehead Viaduct, 12 miles from Settle.

Lovely holiday home. Location is fantastic, just a five minute walk to all the shops, bars and restaurants. Its a terraced house on a fairly busy street but we were always able to find a parking spot. The inside has been decorated and equipped to a high standard and with good taste. Its better equipped than many places Ive stayed and lots of basicsRead more are provided which is a nice touch (towels, cling film, sugar etc). We were also glad of the smart tv for a lazy evening in. Hide
