Set in the picturesque village of Cloughton, this delightful property is perfect for exploring the beaches and cliffs of the Yorkshire coastline and is ideally situated for diving into the magnificent North York Moors National Park. The village has a couple of friendly traditional country pubs, and there’s a handy and well-stocked post office in the next village along. Keen walkers can head along the Cleveland Way which stretches along the coastline, hugging the cliff-tops and passing Hayburn Wyke, a rocky cove with a waterfall which makes an unforgettable spot for a picnic. Trek along the Cinder Track, a former railway line which offers a 23-mile trail for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The lively seaside town of Scarborough is to the south (5 miles) with its bustling seafront and popular beaches. There are several child-friendly activities and plenty of excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Scarborough Sea Life Centre, Scarborough Open Air Theatre and Alpamare Waterpark, all within 4 miles. Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Ravenscar are all within easy reach (within 15 miles).
Entering this cosy and friendly three-storey cottage, you will be greeted by the airy and welcoming lounge. With a wood burner set in a brickwork inglenook at its heart, this pretty room has been stylishly decorated with great attention to detail and has ample space for you to sit back on the sofas and watch a movie on the Smart TV in the evening. Heading into the light and elegantly designed kitchen, you will find a range of equipment perfect for rustling up all your favourite meals, including an electric hob/oven, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine, as well as a useful dishwasher. When dinner’s ready, serve up your feast and dine at the handy breakfast bar. There’s also a utility area featuring a washer/dryer, which makes a practical space for leaving coats, muddy boots and damp dogs after a long walk along the beach. At the end of the day when you’re ready for bed, head upstairs to the first floor where you will find the first of the property’s three delightful bedrooms: a lovely super-king-size room which can be made up as a twin room on request. There’s also a stunningly decorated bathroom on this floor, complete with a roll-top bath and separate shower, perfect for a refreshing shower at the start of the day or a relaxing soak at the end. A second flight of stairs leads to the second floor and two further bedrooms, both beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished: a charming single room with great views, and a delightful king-size room overlooking Goosedale Moor.
Outside, the back courtyard makes a nice and quiet space perfect for enjoying a morning coffee as you get ready for the day’s activities. There’s storage space for locking up bikes and muddy wellies, and a handy side gate leads out onto a footpath taking you onto a cricket pitch and towards the beautiful Goosedale Moor. There’s unrestricted on-street parking directly outside the property, subject to availability.
