Nestled in an idyllic setting, this stunning coastal home is gifted with beautiful sea views and has been lovingly furnished in a classic, timeless style – perfect for couples, friends and families.

This delightful, beamed cottage is ideally situated both for exploring the gorgeous East Yorkshire coast and for discovering the windswept scenery of the North York Moors. The tranquil village of Sandsend features a charming promenade, a lovely sandy beach and a choice of great places to eat and drink. The famous seaside town of Whitby – known internationally for its appearance in the story of Dracula – is just along the coast (3 miles) and offers plenty of fine restaurants and independent shops as well as a Gothic ruined abbey. Pretty villages nearby include Staithes (8 miles), Runswick Bay (6 miles) and the gorgeous Robin Hood’s Bay (8 miles). The lively town of Scarborough is just a little further along this glorious coastline (21 miles).

Offering superb sea views, this charming three-storey cottage is ideally situated just a few metres from a gorgeous beach; the chance for an early-morning walk along the sand to catch the sunrise may be an irresistible draw. A few steps lead up and into this welcoming property which has the feel of a Hamptons beach house. The overall look is one of relaxed, understated elegance, combining a gentle palette of colours and fantastic artisan touches, along with polished pebbles and seashells to create a calming coastal atmosphere.

Starting on the lower ground floor, the airy open-plan kitchen/breakfast room is perfect for cooking and sharing your favourite dishes. The stylishly designed kitchen has a quality finish and is generously equipped with a range-style electric oven with gas hob, a microwave, dishwasher and fridge. A step leads down to the sociable breakfast room which has plenty of space for everyone to sit round the large farmhouse-style table for relaxed breakfasts and convivial lunches while enjoying the sea views or watching a show on the Smart TV. The back door opens onto a small terrace which makes a useful entrance when coming back from the beach. There’s also a handy utility room with a range of useful equipment including a washing machine, tumble dryer, a Belfast sink, airer, ironing board, iron and an additional fridge and freezer so you can stock up for a special meal. There’s ample storage space for all your beach equipment – beach chairs and windbreaks are provided for you.

Finally, the lower ground floor features an invigorating shower room for you after a day at the beach. Exploring the ground floor, the eye-catching dining room provides an ideal venue for you all to gather to enjoy formal dinners or friendly get-togethers. This light-filled room is elegant in style, with a chandelier in the beamed ceiling and an armoire filled with crystal ware. After dinner, head into the sophisticated lounge which is once again gifted with lovely views out to sea. Sink into one of the comfortable sofas or armchairs scattered about the room, snuggle up to watch a movie on the Smart TV and enjoy the warmth of the coal-effect gas fire as you browse through the books on the bookcase.

When it’s time at last to turn in, make your way upstairs where you can choose between three divine, sumptuously furnished and tastefully decorated bedrooms, all with high open ceilings, chandeliers and original exposed beams. The first bedroom is a spacious king-size room with views over the bay, while the second has a stunning king-size four-poster bed with a glimpse out to sea. The final bedroom is a quaint and cosy twin room. The family bathroom is beautifully finished with Italian marble tile, and features a bath with a hand-held shower, providing a soothing space for a relaxing soak.

Outside and to the front of the property, there’s a charming deck garden which is something of a suntrap and provides a lovely spot for a nightcap or al fresco meal as you listen to the waves, take in the sea views and toast your Yorkshire coastal getaway! Off-road tandem parking is available for two cars close by, with on-street parking directly outside, subject to availability.

Sandsend is set on the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline, a heady mix of rugged cliff tops, peaceful bays and pretty fishing villages. With long sandy beaches and all the traditional seaside trimmings of yesteryear, you can indulge in a classic English seaside holiday. With its handsome promenade, long stretch of beach, several excellent eating options and world-class day spa, you could happily spend your whole holiday here.

The village is also just 3 miles from the beautiful town of Whitby, which you can reach at the end of a lovely walk along the beach. With its seaside heritage, excellent restaurants, independent shops and host of bars and cafes along its medieval streets, Whitby has so much to offer the discerning holidaymaker. It's also well worth striking out to sample some of the other coastal villages nearby.

Robin Hood's Bay (8 miles) is one of the most popular coastal locations in Yorkshire. The village is a maze of cobbled streets and higgledy-piggledy houses which seem to tumble down towards the sea. Staithes and Runswick Bay are also under 8 miles away, each with their own unique charm.

Head inland and you can be in the heart of the North York Moors within minutes. Take a tour of the impossibly pretty towns and villages in the area, including Egton, Danby, Castleton and Rosedale. Or head up onto the high moorland of Castleton Rigg; we guarantee on a clear day it will take your breath away.

Lovely cottage which is tastefully decorated with all the facilities close to hand. Nice comfy beds with some brilliant sea views, ideal location with a warm & inviting pub just literally around the corner serving good wholesome pub grub. Would definitely recommend this place for a visit.

The Beach House, Sandsend, is a beautifully presented and comfortable holiday home. Lots of thought has been given to making it a pleasant and welcoming base for either a beach holiday or as a centre for touring the North York Moors and its Dales. We have no hesitation in recommending it, and may well visit The Beach House again in the future.

Love Beach Cottage, been many times and looking forward to another visit. Love looking at the sea while having a cuppa. Love that the beach is only a small stroll away.
