Escape to this idyllic rural lodge with its own hot tub, surrounded by glorious walks and cycle routes, making it an ideal base to discover the North York Moors and the Howardian Hills.

This stylish complex of lodges can be found on the outskirts of the pretty market town of Easingwold, at the heart of some of the most beautiful scenery England has to offer. Located in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the lodge is surrounded by glorious rolling wooded hills and valleys which provide a unique landscape for you to explore, whether by car, foot or bike. Easingwold itself offers a wide variety of friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants. Why not visit the picturesque market town of Helmsley (12 miles) for a dip in the outdoor pool, treat yourself to a hearty meal or sample the local Ryeburn ice cream? With the Kilburn White Horse adorning the hills of the North York Moors nearby (6.5 miles), you really are spoilt for choice for areas to discover. For memorable days out, visit Flamingo Land, Castle Howard or the ancient walled city of York, home to an eclectic mix of great places to eat.

Set in a small parkland of lodges, the property sits near a lake and offers lovely rural views from the terrace. Entering the property via a few steps, you will immediately be greeted by a spacious, fresh and light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which makes a fantastic living space for you all to unwind in at the end of an unforgettable day. Featuring a large sofa, Smart TV and an electric fire in a feature fireplace, the cosy lounge is a perfect spot to snuggle up, watch a movie, catch up with a good book or chat late into the night. The stylishly designed kitchen has plenty of useful equipment, including a gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher, perfect for rustling up all your favourite family meals which you can enjoy around the dining table as you plan the next day’s activities. Exploring this bright and airy property further, there’s a handy bathroom complete with a shower over the bath, perfect whether you want a long soak at the end of the day or a refreshing wake-up shower first thing. When it’s time to head to bed, there are two pretty bedrooms for you to choose between: a spacious double room has built-in wardrobes for your things alongside an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a delightful small twin room.

From the main living area, patio doors lead out onto the fresh and relaxing decked terrace. Here, you can sit back with a refreshing drink in hand as you enjoy the tranquillity surrounding you. Throw a blanket down and take a picnic over to the lake and watch the swans as they glide effortlessly along the water. The lodge sits in a fantastic spot on the cusp of the Howardian Hills and the North York Moors. This superb Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers glorious landscapes with wide fields and undulating hills, quaint villages and impressive country houses. The North York Moors provide hundreds of miles of spellbinding walks and bike trails across glorious heather moorlands and ancient woodlands. You will find a range of welcoming pubs and eateries in the picturesque Georgian market town of Easingwold (3 miles).

Heading south, you can explore the historic city of York (18 miles). The jewel in North Yorkshire's crown, we think York is one of the best short break destinations in England and is a favourite amongst even the most seasoned of travellers. This ancient walled city has been the north's spiritual capital for 2,000 years, but that's not to say it is stuck in the past; York's affluent population and its influx of tourist pounds has helped to create a cultural and commercial oasis. History seeps out of every cobbled street, but the crooked old buildings house a fantastic range of contemporary designer shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Everywhere in York is easily reachable by foot as this small but perfectly formed city houses most of its main attractions within the city walls. Town planning from the Middle Ages means it can take quite some time to get your bearings but finding your way around the labyrinth of warped streets is part of the fun. Make sure you take in York Minster, The Shambles, the Railway Museum and Bettys Tea Room whilst you're there.

If you are looking for outside space in which to relax, you have the choice of a number of parks and gardens, including Dean's Park next to the Minster, the Yorkshire Museum Gardens next to the River Ouse and, slightly further afield, Rowntree Park with its children's playground, tennis courts and bowling green.

The beautiful market town of Helmsley (11.5 miles) is within easy driving distance and is well worth a visit. Head east to find Malton (18 miles), another gorgeous market town offering lots of lovely independent shops and cafes to indulge in.
