Gather together with family or friends in this five-bedroom, dog-friendly holiday home, for a relaxing stay in the Yorkshire Dales.

Escape with your family and friends to this gorgeous stone barn in Constable Burton in scenic North Yorkshire. Sleeping 10 guests, with beautiful grounds and capturing magnificent country views, the five-bedroom retreat makes the perfect place for a group stay. Situated 3 miles from Leyburn, on the fringes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Wenselydale, it is in a superb setting for anyone with a passion for the great outdoors.

Opportunities for family days out to historic sites, such as Bolton Castle, 10 miles away, and beauty spots, such as Aysgarth Falls, 11 miles away, are also in abundance here, as are trips to colourful Yorkshire towns, including Richmond, 8.5 miles from the barn.

Wander inside to discover stylish, country interiors with numerous luxurious touches to ensure you are comfortable during your stay. Marrying character features, such as high oak beams, exposed stonework, and wooden flooring, with the latest technology, the barn has been carefully finished throughout. Please note, due to the building’s age, there are some internal steps between different areas.

Leave your wellies or walking boots in the hall then make your way through to the beautiful lounge, where you can relax and gaze out at the uninterrupted views of the Wensleydale countryside. Relax together on the comfortable seating here in front of a film on the Smart TV while the wood burner throws out an inviting glow in the background.

Prepare family feasts in the country-style kitchen, where you will find everything you need to help you whip up delicious feasts with your own ingredients during your stay. Pause at the breakfast bar with a cup of coffee or glass of wine before setting the long table and lighting the wood burner in here ready for your feast. Also downstairs are a handy utility room and a games room, where the younger members of the family and any fun-loving adults will enjoy challenging each other to a game of pool.

When it’s time to retire for the night, head off to one of the five tastefully furnished bedrooms. The two ground-floor bedrooms both have double beds and en-suite bathrooms, while upstairs there are three super-king-sized, zip-and-link bedrooms, which can be made into twins upon request. Two of these have en-suite bathrooms, one with twin baths, while the other has an en-suite shower room.

Spread out into the magnificent gardens on fine days. Dine out in the charming courtyard, play games with the children on the lawn and simply soak up the serenity as you admire the views out over the moors towards the hills. There is private parking at the barn for up to three cars.

  • 5 bedrooms - 2 doubles, 3 super-king-size zip-and-link (can be made into twins on request)

  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £500 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £50. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

There’s little to find fault with in terms of the property’s location. It’s in the village of Constable Burton, just 3 miles from Leyburn - a traditional market town - which is on the border of Yorkshire Dales National Park. Leyburn has everything you should need for a getaway, such as grocery shops, but also fantastic pubs and a tearoom or two. Plus, on Fridays, it hosts its weekly farmers’ market so that you can sample some wonderful local produce. From Leyburn, you can explore the Dales on many routes leaving from the town’s centre.

Fabulous property in a stunning location and a great base for our holiday. Suits large families and groups as there is plenty of room for everyone and great parking on site. An amazing property in a fantastic location. The pub next door offers very good quality food. Short car ride out to the village of Leyburn offers most of what you may need at the local Co-Op shop or visit nearby Northallerton for shopping at Barkers dept store. For the more serious shoppers, a visit to York is easy to reach and the York Designer OuRead moretlet. Nearby is a chocolate factory is also a good experience. Lastly the property needs a bit of maintenance, I hope this is done for the new season. Hide

A fantastic place to stay with family for a 70th birthday celebration. Spacious, well-stocked and comfortable. A special conversion, done well. Lodge Barn is the perfect place to spend time together with family and friends! It is really spacious and beautifully decorated, both inside and out. There was plenty of space for our multi-generational family to enjoy. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The added bonus was the Wyvill Arms next door!

This place was completely and utterly stunning. Absolutely huge space - the photos already look brilliant but still don't do it justice. Every room was spacious, comfortable and had its own en suite. The social areas such as living room, dining rooms, kitchen were all stand out - fantastic to cook and eat together as well as play games and hang outRead more. Spacious and secure garden appreciated by our dogs! All in all a fabulous weekend, wouldn't hesitate to book again. Hide

Lovely property, very spacious & warm. Amazing stone floors, stylish furniture. Great size kitchen. Top outdoor space. Lots of hotwater. NewYear - cooking amazing Farmison meats & celebrating with fine wine. Kitchen equipment was disappointing for amount we paid. The range oven needs a service. A cook will understand. Lack of items: juicer, grinderRead more, coffee machine, sharpknives, fine wine glasses, decanter, placemats, linens etc. Had a lovely time just could have been tip-top. Hide
