The property is a lovely one-bedroom cottage situated in the heart of the market town of Richmond.  It's less than 150 metres from the Norman castle, and sleeping two people is ideal for a couple looking for a romantic getaway.

There's no denying the superb location of this property. The charming cottage is less than 200 metres from the cobbled Market Place and the town centre lined with its shops, pubs, cafes, tearooms and restaurants.

Step inside and find a charming cottage that's a clever mix of original features and contemporary touches, creating a homely and comfortable, yet distinctly unique home. The original flagstones are still be seen in the open-plan living and dining area. The striking wood burner brings warmth and cosiness to this beautiful space, and at the end of a busy day exploring you can curl up on the large, comfortable sofa with a warm drink or your favourite tipple and watch classic movies on the Smart TV.

As the name of the house suggests, there's an old well in the cottage, which has become a special feature. Step down to the contemporary kitchen area, generously equipped with lots of personal touches and everything you need to prepare a deliciously romantic meal. You could dine at the table in the cosy lounge or on warm evenings at the perfectly placed table on the private terrace outside.

The cottage boasts a lovely, bright double bedroom for a restful night's sleep, and you could spend a lazy morning in your pyjamas while sipping coffee or enjoying a late brunch in bed and watching the Smart TV. Enjoy a refreshing shower in the luxurious shower room with a vanity mirror.

Adjacent to the bedroom is a pretty little terrace which offers a glimpse of nearby Richmond Castle - the perfect place to enjoy your favourite evening drink, a glass of bubbly or morning coffee. Stairs lead down to a walled terrace with a bench where you can enjoy sitting in the sun on a fine day.

The vibrant cathedral city of Ripon boasts a Thursday market, numerous coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and a nice collection of independent shops to explore. The cathedral is smaller than its close neighbour, York Minster, but is still an awe-inspiring sight. In addition, every night for at least 450 years the Ripon Hornblower has sounded the curfew at 9pm from all four sides of the obelisk in the market place, come rain or shine, followed by a 15-minute history of the ceremony and the city – an experience not to be missed! If you are partial to a flutter, Ripon Race Ground has around 15 meets from April to early September. Known as 'Yorkshire's Garden Racecourse' it has a distinct atmosphere harking back to a bygone era – traditional tearooms and bandstands sit alongside the champagne bar.

This area of Yorkshire has enough historic sites to keep you busy for a week with Ripley Castle (8.5 miles), Newby Hall (5.5 miles) and Norton Conyers (4 miles) all close by. Visit lovely Fountains Abbey and the gorgeous Studley Royal Water Garden, 3.5 miles away – this World Heritage site is deservedly one of the National Trust's most visited locations. As well as the spectacular ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, the grounds are home to an Elizabethan Mansion, a medieval deer park and some of the most romantic vistas in the country.

Harrogate (12.5 miles) is an absolute must-visit if you're staying here. Encircled by its famous Stray, or 200 acres, of horseshoe-shaped grassland, the Victorian spa town of Harrogate has a bright and breezy open-air feel and is characterised by its impressive floral displays. And as you would expect of such a bustling upbeat town, Harrogate boasts over 300 bars and restaurants together with all the shops, cinemas, parks, and gardens you could ever wish for.

Very small but spotlessly clean property. The rooms are all on one level and the kitchen is between the sittingroom and the bedroom. Very comfortable bed but limited hanging space in bedroom. Richmond is a lovely town and the cottage is conveniently situated off the town square.
