Nestled in the quaint fishing village of Staithes is this cosy cottage, rich in history and just a few steps from the beach - ideal for families.

Situated in the heart of the pretty, traditional fishing village of Staithes, this property is an impressive three-bedroom holiday cottage. Less than 100 metres from art galleries, a vintage tearoom and the beach, this charming cottage sleeps up to six people and is the ideal choice for families looking to relax by the seaside.

As you enter this cosy and characterful cottage, you'll find a wonderfully impressive open-plan living and dining area - a real luxury for socialising, making this a perfect choice for families. The decor is in relaxing shades, with a nautical theme running throughout the house.

In the lounge, you'll immediately notice the striking traditional cottage-style interior with wooden floors, a beamed ceiling and an eye-catching original fireplace oven that can be used for logs. After a day of exploring the coast and countryside, imagine yourself lounging or curling up on the comfortable sofa or armchair with some snacks and a drink to unwind while watching your favourite movie or box set on the Smart TV.

The dining area is thoughtfully placed near a window that lets in plenty of natural light. Dine together while planning the next day's adventures. A staircase leads down to the contemporary kitchen with a breakfast bar where you can chat while preparing dishes from the fresh local produce.

From the lounge, climb the stairs to the first floor, where you'll find a bright and spacious double room, a single room, and a bathroom. If you open the door, you'll find another staircase (watch your head on the way up!) and a triple room upstairs with exposed beams and lots of light through the skylight - a great room for children.

  • 3 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 single and a triple room with singles

Staithes has bundles of charm and offers an idyllic location for a seaside escape. The village boasts some of the narrowest cobbled streets in the north and has a network of ginnels, nooks, and winding streets to explore. The village hosts real ale and jazz festivals during the year which attract many visitors.

Sandsend (7.5 miles) is set on the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline; a heady mix of rugged cliff tops, peaceful bays and pretty fishing villages. With long sandy beaches and all the traditional seaside trimmings of yesteryear, you can indulge in a classic English seaside holiday. With its handsome promenade, long stretch of beach, several excellent eating options and world-class day spa, you could happily spend your whole holiday here.

Staithes is also just 11 miles from the beautiful town of Whitby. With its seaside heritage, excellent restaurants, independent shops and host of bars and cafes along its medieval streets, it has so much to offer the discerning holidaymaker. It's also well worth striking out to sample some of the other coastal villages nearby.

Robin Hood's Bay (16 miles) is one of the most popular coastal locations in Yorkshire or the UK for that matter. The village is a maze of cobbled streets and higgledy-piggledy houses which seem to tumble down towards the sea. Runswick Bay (3.5 miles) and Saltburn (p miles), each have their own unique charm.

Head inland and you can be in the heart of the North York Moors within minutes. Take a tour of the impossibly pretty towns and villages in the area, including Egton (10 miles), Danby (10 miles), Castleton (11 miles) and Rosedale (20 miles). Or head up on the high moorland of Castleton Rigg; we guarantee on a clear day it will take your breath away.

We stayed at the Curious Crab over the New Year.. we walked into the cottage and I was immediately struck by the gorgeous, original range in the living room, absolutely stunning. The living room was comfortable and cosy, the kitchen is fully equipped and the bedrooms are lovely. All the beds are comfy and the bonus was the huge bath towels suppliedRead more. The cottage is a stones throw from the beach and the Cod & Lobster. I would definitely recommend for your next stay in Staithes. Hide

The whole village is beautiful, but cannot be seen from the cottage itself. If you have any difficulty breathing this cottage is not for you, as you have to go up two flights of stairs if you are in the kitchen and need the bathroom, with the breakfast bar being the easiest place to eat having cooked due to the steep concrete stairs back up to the Read morelounge and dining table. The whole area of the coast is wonderful from Ravens Car to Redcar, especially Whitby, Sandsend and Saltburn-By-The-Sea. Hide

We enjoyed our stay.Good location, cottage was clean, living area was a bit tired looking. Stairs down to kitchen are quirky but wouldnt suit someone with mobility issues. The welcome pack is a nice touch.

We had a wonderful time with our 2 doggies! Lots of morning and evening walks on the beach and around the harbour. The beds and bed linen were super comfy and we slept like a dream!
