Elevate your glamping experience with a stay in this splendid shepherd's hut, a real gem in the North Yorkshire countryside. This tranquil and undisturbed property benefits from a countryside location, just 1 mile from the pretty village of Stapleton. With only the rolling hills and livestock around you as neighbours, you can retreat to this amazing space when in need of peace and quiet with only your loved one for company. Despite its enviable seclusion, the owners of this unique holiday home are always close by should you need assistance with anything.

The converted shepherd's hut is a bijou space with plenty of traditional features maintained. Despite its small size, the property has been thoughtfully laid out to ensure that the space is cosy instead of cramped, a feature which hasn’t gone unnoticed by so many previous guests who are eager to return again and again.

A small external ladder leads up and into the elevated property. As you step inside, you’re instantly met by a compact kitchen that’s been well-stocked with all of the necessary cooking utensils. With a two-ring gas hob, a combi microwave oven and a mini fridge, you can really get creative when cooking here to rustle up a hearty breakfast or a delectable one-pot evening meal.

When it’s time to sit down together, a snug little dining table for two is within easy reach. This table has been neatly positioned underneath the property’s pretty window, offering you the chance to look out and admire the scenery even on those days when the weather doesn’t allow for alfresco dining. When meals are done, you’ll find a fully plumbed-in sink with all of the necessary cleaning equipment to leave the kitchen organised.

You can enjoy some downtime in this pretty property by climbing up into the raised double bed. This super-comfortable bed with a plush mattress and fresh linens provides a wonderful space for two to cuddle up and relax. A wall-mounted TV or Bluetooth speaker can be switched on, or you can savour the silence, and each get stuck into a book instead.

Completing the inside offering of this stand-out accommodation choice is an en-suite shower room. Fully fitted with a walk-in shower unit and contemporary WC and basin, you’ll relish in the freedom of a glamping trip without needing to use any shared facilities.

An optimal choice for stays throughout the summer months, this holiday home really comes into its own when you consider the outdoor space. Fully enclosed and entirely private, you’ll spend so much time in this pretty garden when the weather is right. Here you’ll find a picnic bench with a parasol for sitting out and savouring alfresco dinners, as well as a gas BBQ and all of the required cooking utensils for getting stuck in.

A real highlight of staying right here is the sole use of the wood-fired hot tub. Complete with a generous collection of logs ready to throw on the fire, this wood-fired hot tub is a wonderful, eco-friendly way of enjoying a little taste of luxury as evening falls. Sink into the warm bubbles and gaze up into the dark night skies above you, plotting adventures for days yet to come.

With the River Tees passing by and a local pub serving delicious meals, Stapleton is a much-loved addition to the North Yorkshire countryside. Boasting a central position between the North Pennines AONB, the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park, you’ll never fall short of places to explore when staying in this area. The coastal town of Redcar is also within an hour’s drive on a clear day.

Locally you can visit Richmond (9 miles), a Yorkshire Dales gateway town with stunning scenery all around it. This eclectic market town is complete with a signature cobbled marketplace hosting a bi-weekly market, a fantastic castle that’s steeped in local history and the pretty beauty spot of Richmond Falls on the River Swale. On the outskirts of town, you’ll find Easby Abbey, a beautiful place to take a picnic or enjoy a walk around.

From here you’re in an excellent potion to venture into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, perhaps making a beeline for Calver Hill (23 miles) and admiring the commanding Swaledale scenery from up high.

The magnificent North York Moors is another National Park that’s accessible within 20 miles. On the outskirts of the area, you’ll find the English Heritage site of Mount Grace Priory, House and Gardens which is well worth a look around. Stop off in the local village of Osmotherley (20 miles) to plan your excursion into the fabulous North Yorkshire countryside. This vibrant spot is a well-known starting point for walkers and cyclists hoping to discover the surrounding area, complete with a café, a village shop and a superb local fish and chip shop to fuel those adventures.

As an area that borders County Durham, you also unlock a whole other area to explore in the much-loved north-east. Cross over the border and into Darlington (4 miles), a wonderful market town with so much to see and do. The on-trend Imperial Quarter offers a fantastic place to splash some cash in designer and independent boutiques, whilst a whole host of eateries and bars are on-hand to fill an evening out.
