While away hours simply staring out at the magical views across the Yorkshire Dales National Park from this enticing stone barn at Starbotton, 2 miles from the village of Kettlewell. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom abode makes a wonderful Yorkshire retreat for an extended family, two families together or a group of friends eager to escape together.
Nestling at the foot of Great Whernside, nearby Kettlewell is home to dramatic landscapes and charming village pubs, as well as some of the best walks and cycle routes in the country. For avid walkers, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is also within easy reach. The popular market town of Skipton, with its historic castle, is 16 miles away and spectacular Malham Cove, is 15 miles from the holiday home.
Step into a spacious entrance hall where you will find a handy area to hang coats and leave wellies. Two of the bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, and a family bathroom are also at this level, together with the elegant dining room, which has doors on to the garden so you can stroll out on warm days.
Venture upstairs to discover the beautiful lounge, with its high, vaulted ceiling, oak beams and revealed stonework. Light the wood burner in here to create a cosy ambience then settle down on the sumptuous seating to watch the Smart TV.
Head through to the fully equipped kitchen, where a central island with a breakfast bar makes a great spot to perch while the cook rustles up a home-cooked feast, then dine in here, down in the dining room or out in the sunshine.
A king-size bedroom, with a Smart TV, and a super-king size bedroom, which boasts a private balcony and fell views, are also at this level, together with another family bathroom.
For the ultimate games night, head out to the garden and discover a fantastic games room complete with multi-games table, with table tennis, snooker and air hockey, a full-sized bar with a wine and beer cooler and a Smart TV. There is another wood burner in here for chilly evenings.
When the sun is shining, relax out on the patio, firing up the BBQ on summer evenings and watching the children play on the grass. There is parking for two cars at the barn and space in the garage to store bicycles.
