Culture vultures can head to Hull’s Old Town (8 miles) to peruse the cobbled streets lined with brick facades, with plenty of historical sights to explore. The breathtakingly beautiful gothic Hull Minster (8 miles), the centrepiece of Hull’s Old Town is not to be missed; come back after sunset to view the remarkable sight of vibrant lights illuminating the church.

Boasting Victorian grandeur, an excellent play area, a conservatory greenhouse and a small lake, keen walkers and cyclists can enjoy the fresh outdoors at Pearson Park (10 miles) and get the blood pumping by weaving around the trails. The whole family will love a long walk through the park, spotting the many historic artefacts, including the restored statues of Queen Victoria and Price Albert, a historic drinking fountain and the large monolith in memory of Zachariah Pearson who gifted the park to the people of Hull.

We had the most amazing holiday at Wishing Well Lodge! The garden is great - the dog loved it - and we stargazed from the hot tub most nights. The kitchen is well-equipped, with oil, salt, and pepper provided, alongside tea and coffee. Our dog is nervous, but the location is so great that the only thing he barked at all week was a couple of pigeonsRead more! The Co-op is also really handy (10 minute walk). Easington Beach is a great place to go for a quiet dog walk, and is just a 20 minute drive away. Hide
