Designed from the book Small Architecture, this former coach house has been cleverly converted into a bijou retreat for two. Located at the edge of the Stray parkland where you can enjoy walks from the door, this small but perfectly formed building is situated just 0.5 miles from the centre of the vibrant spa town of Harrogate, where there are a whole host of amenities within easy reach. Take a trip around Valley Gardens, visit an exhibition at the Convention Centre or indulge in a dip at the Turkish Baths. For those wanting to venture further afield, Nidderdale AONB and the Yorkshire Dales National Park are just 5 miles away, boasting a wealth of stunning walks and cycle trails.

Step through the wooden and stone exterior into this delightful holiday home which is the epitome of tiny living, complete with underfloor heating to keep you toasty. You’ll find exquisite interiors where no attention to detail has been spared and every inch has been cleverly designed with comfort and style in mind. Bright, neutral and oozing contemporary chic, the property has been accessorised ingeniously with statement pieces that add an additional touch of elegance whether you are curling up for a restful night’s sleep or feasting by candlelight.

Enter through a small entrance hall and cast aside your outdoor gear, making the most of the spaces to hang coats and the cupboard to tidy away boots or cycling gear after a day exploring the Dales. To the right is a handy breakfast bar where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee perched high on the stools. This leads through to the state-of-the-art kitchen; a masterpiece of design thanks to the clever shelving and integrated appliances. There is an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine for all your culinary, laundry and caffeine needs, plus a thoughtful welcome pack of essentials to kick start your stay.

Climb the stairs to find a bright yet cosy king-size bedroom with vaulted ceilings and plenty of space to cuddle up on the sofa situated in the corner. Watch your favourite films on the TV and share a bowl of popcorn, then at bedtime you can stargaze through the skylight. Just off the bedroom is a stylish en-suite shower room for invigorating showers after your adventures.

Despite having no dedicated outdoor space, this property is just 100 metres from the Stray, comprising 200 acres of grassy parkland. Time it right to enjoy annual Bank Holiday funfairs or watch a local football match. Alternatively, just stroll the floral spaces and watch kite flyers testing out their skills.

The grand Victorian spa town of Harrogate is regularly listed as the best place to live in the UK. The truly gorgeous Yorkshire town combines traditional elegance with contemporary style effortlessly. And the Duchy suburb is well known as being one of the most desirable postcodes in town.

Best known for its antiques and fine art, Harrogate has antique dealers and galleries around every corner, particularly around the Montpellier Quarter. If buying old paintings and furniture isn't your bag, there are a host of other reasons to part with your cash in Harrogate. High-fashion outlets nestle alongside lavish interior boutiques, punctuated with enough fine restaurants and cafes to keep you fuelled for weeks.

If you have time, we highly recommend a session at the famous Turkish Baths. Rejuvenate spirit and soul after a day on the town. If you're travelling with children, Harrogate is famous for its outdoor space with lots of parkland and greenery everywhere. The RHS gardens at Harlow Carr are also a fantastic option for families.

Harrogate is also very close to the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, so it makes the perfect base from which to explore the glorious Yorkshire landscape and its many stunning natural sights. The breathtaking Nidderdale is 10 miles north-west, and you will be driving through some of the most dramatic Dales scenery. We highly recommend a day trip to gorgeous Ilkley (18 miles) combined with a visit to Bolton Abbey, 17 miles away.

York is within easy reach (21 miles) and a day trip to this beautiful medieval city is well worth it. The jewel in North Yorkshire's crown, we think York is one of the best short break destinations in England and is a favourite amongst even the most seasoned of travellers. This ancient walled city has been the north's spiritual capital for 2,000 years, but that's not to say it is stuck in the past; York's affluent population and its influx of tourist pounds has helped to create a cultural and commercial oasis. History seeps out of every cobbled street, but the crooked old buildings house a fantastic range of contemporary designer shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Everywhere in York is easily reachable by foot as this small but perfectly formed city houses most of its main attractions within the city walls. Middle Ages town planning means it can take quite some time to get your bearings but finding your way around the labyrinth of warped streets is part of the fun. Make sure you take in York Minster, The Shambles, the Railway Museum and the popular tearooms whilst you're there.

If you are looking for outside space in which to relax, you have the choice of a number of parks and gardens, including Dean's Park next to the Minster, the Yorkshire Museum Gardens next to the River Ouse and, slightly further afield, Rowntree Park with its children's playground, tennis courts and bowling green.

And, what's more, it really is a year-round location. Summer days can be spent lounging in one of the gorgeous parks and, in the autumn, York comes alive with shop windows sparkling in the dusky light. Its central location also makes a great base from which to explore the rest of glorious Yorkshire, with the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Yorkshire coastline all within easy reach for beautiful walks and adventurous days out.
