Tucked away in the picturesque and popular town of Pateley Bridge in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, James Herriot Country, and enjoying a fantastic central location just off the high street, this stone-built cottage offers intrigue indoors and a base for exploring outdoors. Step out of the door into this quaint town and browse the many independent shops and cafes, as well as the oldest sweet shop in England. The starting and finishing point of The Nidderdale Way provides walks straight from the doorstep, there are a whole host of wonderfully scenic walks to enjoy. Explore Nidderdale AONB on foot or by bike, or venture further into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. There is an abundance of quintessential Yorkshire villages to visit nearby, including Grassington (10 miles), Skipton (20 miles) and the popular spa town of Harrogate (14 miles).

Step out of the hustle and bustle of the street and into this beautifully furnished retreat. Kick off your walking boots at the door and head through to the vibrant lounge. Decorated in the style of Alice in Wonderland, relax on one of the bespoke, colourful sofas and watch a movie on the Smart TV. The kitchen/diner is bright and spacious and provides the perfect space to socialise. Sit around the dining table and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening whilst playing one of the many games that are provided. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to rustle up a quick breakfast or family meal. Off the kitchen is a handy utility room with a washing machine and plenty of space for coats. On the first floor, you will find three comfortable bedrooms; two doubles and one twin. Completing the interior of this charming home is a family bathroom.

At the front of the property, there are a couple of benches for you to sit, relax, and enjoy your morning coffee whilst watching the many passers-by.

We spent a great short break over Easter here with our sons and their partners. The cottage is very comfortable and practical for 6 people and is in a perfect spot for exploring Pateley Bridge and beyond. As we were three couples, our hosts offered to make up the third bedroom as a double rather than a twin, which was kind and much appreciated. PatRead moreeley Bridge has two very good butchers (pies a speciality at Kendalls!), a decent Spar, plus a Nisa over the bridge. Hide
